PvP gear is actually extremely good. A lot of it before 120/130 gear was BiS.

And as for level 51 or whatever being better than level 50 stuff, I believe they said that it will not be the case for most of it.

But to wear it you need an high pvp rank and to max it you need really a lot of time, so when you have just reach 50, hardly you will be able to use it :/
Anyway they said that the Reward would be adjusted and I hope they will do it soon.

For example up to now I'm using my wolf mark for levelling Desynth and it work very well for blacksmith and armorer.
