So, now with the new changes, hunts are relevant again. Figured I would start a thread for all the inevitable hate that is to come.
I'm a Jenovian, though. Jenova is known for having the most organized hunts of any server there is.
Lets get started!

Was anyone excited for the mind-numbing grind-fest from 2.3 hunts to come back?
We once again have no direct reason to participate in content other than Hunts (except for the CT line for an extra Carbon item per week), since the (twice as long) Hunt grind will overflow both Soldiery and Poetics for everyone. 2.3 was, all told, the least fun I've had with the game since launch, and the broken Hunt reward structure was the primary cause of that lack of enjoyment. 2.5 looks like it will be about the same, which is really disappointing for the last major patch before the expansion.
3K seals for one Carbontwine? Yikes.
What is wrong with SE... seriously. The CT weekly was a great idea, hunt grinding again... not so much.

I purposefully finished my Novus prior to 2.5 so I would not have to participate in hunts during this madness. I'm just fine with the weekly quest and coil drops. There's no way I'm grinding hunts for one gear upgrade. Turned shouts off in my log window too so I don't have to read the early pull rage.

If it were almost completely random (for example A rank spawn window starts after 3 hours and lasts for 10 hours; same with S ranks but 10 times more rare 30 hours after death/100 hours spawn window), there would be a much higher feeling of hunting (or just stumbling into one, maybe) and it would be fun, not necessarily effective, not necessarily a good way to get gear, but the cosmetic would actually be worth something (right now, it's just not, anyone and their chocobos can get the gear as it is, makes it downright bland).
The other options would be making S rank triggers more obvious, but more difficult to trigger. And maybe have a signal where the monster dies until he spawns again, just so that we wouldn't have to rely on hunt tracker websites. (Maybe keep his corpse disappearing into the aether gradually until it completely disappears and spawns 5 minutes later, that'd be cool I think)

This could be solved if they put more endame mechanics on Elite Marks. Was anyone excited for the mind-numbing grind-fest from 2.3 hunts to come back?

Hunts are insanely easy now, especially S ranks. I've had Agrippa the Mighty killed in under two minutes... on the smallest server.

I am somewhere in Nowhere, but nowhere in Somewhere.

May be a noob question here but why is this game making everything obtainable from hunts? What's the point of having these hard coils or whatever when you can just obtain everything by easy hunts?. I have yet to even unlock TFCOB (stuck on 2nd coil last turn) but is it that hard the game had to make a way for like the other 99% who can't beat it? This hunt thing seems like a total noob/lazy way of getting the best gear, its very disappointing
