obviously these are going to be upgrade from Supra. My only hope is that 399 gathering is enough to catch the clam, let alone hq.

I can only lol at the Ironworks Rod being made completely irrelevant so soon. I mean, at least the Rod of the Luminary is good for glamours. The boring Ironworks Rod isn't even good for that. I am hoping that clam requires 410 gathering. This requires people to get the rod to catch it. *evilgrin*
410 D: so mean
The clam is in South Bloodshore Eastern La Noscea and is listed before The Greatest Bream in the World, and is a white quality fish. Odds are it doesn't require more than the Supra+Food to catch. The moonstones and glacial shards are easy gets from GC seals (4k/600 seals each respectively). It's just pure stupid.
it wont be 410 cuz its impossible without ironwork rod , the rod just makes it easier for fishers that already have it , its not a must!
anyone else notice they are dye-able? hype-intensifies
"Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."
Well guess it's good I got lazy and never finished the Ironworks rod. Reminds me of all the 1.0 work I did for luminary and poof gone but nice glamour though. I'll do the achievement some other day I guess now. Too soon though Yoshi.. too soon. Love new content but let players enjoy the reward a little longer. Grats to those who finished the Ironworks though and sorry I guess.
I'm hoping that Lucis won't be the next step up from Ironworks, but rather an alternate progression for fishers who don't want to take the Ironworks path.
Getting an Ironworks rod takes an awful lot of work. If SE plans on continuing to advance to higher-level fishing with higher-level requirements, they're going to need to introduce alternate rods with less of a time investment.
Forcing players who wish to advance to get an Ironworks rod would be akin to forcing DoM and DoW who want to advance to acquire a Zodiac weapon.
This is bullshit from the getgo because when they introduced the Ironworks Rod, they also introduced at least one fish that demanded it if you didn't have FC buff at your disposal (hint: many don't). The Lucis Rod is not only much better than the Ironworks Rod but also much easier to get. It's absolutely stupid SE did this and it's a major middle finger to people who worked on getting the Ironworks Rod because it has literally no use. And no not even glamour because it looks incredibly generic and dull compared to a Supra.I'm hoping that Lucis won't be the next step up from Ironworks, but rather an alternate progression for fishers who don't want to take the Ironworks path.

Hm, I want the ironworks just because it is a achievement to be had. It might be bad for some people, but to others it is just a check point. It better better or not means very little. I got to catch them all! This is bullshit from the getgo because when they introduced the Ironworks Rod, they also introduced at least one fish that demanded it if you didn't have FC buff at your disposal (hint: many don't).
