Hunts becoming popular again?

On the "bright side" this time around for quite a few classes the gear upgrades are barely worth it since several pieces of the Ironworks gear are utter garbage.

I disagree about it being only available via Coil, but i also despise hunts as THE method to get them.

I don't think that coil should be the only place to obtain these items, but I don't believe hunts should be FAR AND AWAY the superior method of obtaining them. You should be able to get 1 or 2 a week from hunts. If people can get 5 a day, that's broken.

There is 3 methods upgrade your poetic items.. World of Darkness, coil and hunts. Everybody can do what ever they want.

I'm not looking forward to this. I used to love the hunts, until I had upgraded full gear for 2 classes in 2 weeks.
But if it goes the same way "Hey anyone up for any ex primal or smn?"

Got that answer for like a month straight when they implemented hunts and no one ever wanted to do anything except hunts hunts hunts.

If this is the way this patch is gonna be too I might as well end my sub and wait for the expansion

Oh I know right? Almost ever hunt has "that guy" who didn't make it and blames everyone for his own incompetency. After all, it's always "Everyone pulled early!" and never ever "I was slow and late". The 100 people who were ready are selfish for not waiting for 1 person, but 1 person demanding that 100 people wait for him is not selfish at all.

No. The Famitsu interview with Yoshi-P on 13th Jan (I made a thread earlier) says that it will have a similiar quest like the 3 EX Primals in 2.1 - you have to run CT, ST and WoD weekly and it probably gives you a token to exchange one carbon material per week.

In this part, Yoshi-P says that unlike in patch 2.3 where all 3 (UAT, Sands, Oil) were not available for choice right from the start, in patch 2.5 update the Poetics upgrade item will be all added in one go.

I can't access the Patch 2.1 notes, but the weekly repeatable quest, "Primal Focus" was part of the quest in "Chronicles of a New Era". A quick round of reddit shows that no one knew how it work, whether it is repeatable or not so I presume the patch notes didn't state it either.

If so, then I guess "The Gift of the Archmagus" might be the weekly repeatable quest.
