Amazing, would kill for this kind of content.
With claiming changes and a really good dragon model, I don't see why something like this can't be in FFXIV, just need some time to script/code and animate it out.
The bizarre netcode will never let it happen.
The devs themselves have already stated the game can't handle large scale activity on numerous occassions. Just last week they said areas with too many mobs would be too graphically demanding. Whatever their reasons maybe be, if there's one thing I feel absolutely certain of, it's that FFXIV will never ever look like that. We already know the direction the game is going, they've revealed plenty of info. And if you read between the lines you can see that much more. In my opinion, if you watch that video and wish XIV were like that, then I think you should give that game a try instead when it comes out rather than feel unsatisfied at what XIV isn't.
>.> DocMog you've white knighted FFXIV so much i never thought you'd even bring examples from other games into this forum let alone a video!
Is one of FFXIV's "don't go 'a changin' " supporters starting to lose his faith?
It is sad when even their players already lose their faith and accept the fact that FFXIV will never be as epic as other game out there
graphics mean nothing compaired to content and gameplay, stick figures/epic battles > no epic content with great looking flowers lol...i think this is why they launched so early now, they just trying to make there money back. i'm finally to conclusion that this game will shut down a year tops of it launching. small dungeon man'd games all have other things in them called pvp and no pvp this game can come up with can make up for the lack in pve. i held onto my hopes for long time but this post kinda crushed it ...not the vid cause i been watching gw2 for long time but the post saying yoshi says they can't handle it....that is new to me, i thought they were still gonna work on large scale stuff. no large scale = fail.
I still have faith that SE will have some major epicness like that as well, My line draw after they finish giving all the final touches to the backbone of this game: UI, wards, transportation.. Finally putting their effort toward contest that it is when I would make my decision.
From my experience, world bosses can't hurt the game and only make for a stringer nit community and feeling the world is alive. Past games have made it so that rewards are based on participation. Things like how many people you res and cure or how much damage you do will add points to your score which can roll you for some nice drops. Also, watching dozens of players attack one giant monster is just epic.
