First I would like to say,
The recent dungeon fights were a WONDERFUL step in the right direction with boss fights that require multiple mechanics to overcome in order to kill the boss effectively.
With that said, I just watched a video I would like to share, (I hope this is not against the forum guidelines posting a video from another game):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0nCHPl_mEU&hd=1
Take a close look at the number of things going on, the SCALE of things going on, and how MANY people are involved in the action.
I feel strongly that FFXIV can accomplish this same awesome feat, and I would rather play that SAME fight out in FFXIV than moving to Guild Wars 2 to experience such epicness.
So, I wanted to share this with the community and devs to see how they feel about similar fights of such a magnitude and see about the possibility of adding "similar" content to FFXIV.
Thanks for watching ^^

Edit:
In the video, I see an opportunity for crafters to get into the fight as well.
Crafters are gathered around the cannons, it is their job to repair and fire them.
Alchemist clicks the cannon, this puts them into the crafting window with the mats for "gunpowder" ready for synth.
The higher the Quality on the gunpowder synth, the more damage the cannonball does when it gets fired.
Woodworker clicks the cannon, this puts them into the crafting window with lumber to repair the wheels. Higher quality means longer before the cannon breaks.
Blacksmiths, same thing to the barrel.
Non grouped players kill the ribcages the dragon puts up to protect itself from the cannon fire,
Grouped players kill the exploding zombies.
Nobody tanks the dragon, he is scripted and only killed by the combined effort of the groups killing the zobies, the ribs coming down quickly, and the crafters repairing and firing the cannons. A GENUINE group effort of many players.
No loot comes from the boss itself to prevent claim whoring, everyone gets points for their company, or some such thing.
