Another Final Fantasy revisit sug. anyone remember MagiTek?

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned or posted another thread about this but i was just thinking about old final fantasy games and how i would love to see certain things in this state of graphics and user interfaces... anyone remember MagiTek Armor? i remember playing FFIII US release on my super Nintendo when i was about 10 11 yrs old and that was an awesome concept of a mechanized armor. I know something like that would be YEARS down the road for XIV provided it lasts that long (which i hope it dose) but maybe i can plant a seed in the creators mind with this thread.... =)

I see that as a real possibility, particularly with the Garleans and their tech savvy-ness. I don't know if we'd ever have our own, but I can certainly see MagiTek popping up in the story.

Watch the opening video, those flying things that are escorting the airships would seem like our version of magitek armor. They also feature a MagiTek cannon.

yeah thats another thing that i wonder if those are going to be obtainable as a type of flying mount like you have available in WoW now that coupled with a ground magitek mount would be awesome but i can see why they wouldnt if they did that then everywhere you go you would see magitek, magitek, magitek, airship, magitek, airship, which means they would have to put some type of control over the whole thing

It should be noted though that cannons having special effects on them isn't really magitek. In the early Limsa storyline you can see a form of magic that can be used on any old cannon it seems to produce amazingly powerful shots of various types. But yes, Garlean technology is magitek and thus their cannons are magitek cannons. I just wanted to point out that others can produce crazy cannon effects too without magitek.

i haven't gotten very far in the game yet but thank you for pointing that out even if we can eventually get the ability/armor/mount they can make it with no uber powerful cannon just make it as a mount and maybe have an ability you can unlock or something that has a VERY long cool down timer. or something that i have posted in another thread taking CoH (City of Hero's) when you get one character slot on a server up to maximum level you can create a new character from a set of unlocked races/jobs. maybe a couple of ideas would be Summoner, and MagiTek pilot available only after you make one character to max level in all classes

A lot of the stuff in this topic has been adressed. More espers, or "Primals," are coming in the next patch after Ifrit, although which one(s) was not said. This was in the last LFP if I remember correctly.

Magic Armor was voted by players as the most requested mount, and IIRC it was in the Famitsu interview where the said this will be faaaaar down the road, along with mounted fighting in battle for all classes, including chocobo-back. I would like to believe that this is part of the reason taking damage on chocobos is going to be happening from the get-go, and armor for them is coming 1.20.
