The initial concept for FATEs was as a device to allow for leveling jobs when quests were not available. In this they worked extremely well. It was then decided to use them for things they were not intended for such Hunts, Beast Tribe quests, gear progression and side story line progression. The problem is that the developers decided to use existing FATES for the vast majority of the new content without adjusting them to meet the new requirements. The results have been predictable. You have players wasting an inordinate amount of time waiting for them to spawn when the could be making better use of their game time. It is too late for SE change this for ver 2.x. As long as it is confined to ver 2.x and new systems are designed for 3.x and beyond then I can live with it. If not then this game will nor survive beyond 3.x

FATEs for beastmen quests and CT quests got their spawntime reduced.

I have not had a chance to test this yet, I hope you are right. The basic problem still remains. FATES were not designed for this and should not have been used. Remember it took Yoshida and his team about 20 months to totally revamp this game from the failure of ver 1.0 while keeping that game playable for half that time. That is not a long time in the world of game development. That is why you see so many aspects of ffxi primarily mobs incorporated into ARR. Technically this game is still in basic development and corners had to be cut to continue to make it viable while they pressed on with the development of ver 3.x. The longevity of the game will be determined by the expansion. If it is new and innovative then it will have a long life. If it is a continuation of 2.x in concept and mechanics then the future is bleak.
