FATEs shouldn't ever be required in the first place.
FATEs shouldn't ever be required in the first place.
Returned like last week to the game with Zenith and now working on my first book towards Animus. Personally the FATE wasn't a problem for me as I play casually and often read stuff as I wait for FATEs and DF etc. At first I thought the 9 books was too excessive, it actually wasn't hard for me to earn enough Soldiery for the books.
Currently I play perhaps 3-4 days a week, about 3-5 hours each time, only doing the low level roulette, main quest roulette, beast tribe dailies for Soldiery and my personal feeling is this:
If you want to catch up quickly in iLv to do the latest raids, you shouldn't be relying on the relic anyway. You should be farming CT for iLv100 gear anyway, which will let you roll on the iLv100 weapon token. Then upgrade it to iLv110.
The relic line has special meaning, that's why it takes special steps to get, and I don't really want to see the steps nerfs to oblivion that it no longer feel special. Yes we can speed it up by upping the drop rates etc., but going through each of the steps is part of the journey of getting the relic up to date, isn't it? If you disagree and just want the relic done asap because it's just a weapon, then the relic series isn't for you anyway.
Back on topic, I do agree FATEs need some change. As it is now, I have absolutely zero motivation to join FATEs unless required as an objective. That means FATEs as a game content is a failure.
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
― Ernest Hemingway
The initial concept for FATEs was as a device to allow for leveling jobs when quests were not available. In this they worked extremely well. It was then decided to use them for things they were not intended for such Hunts, Beast Tribe quests, gear progression and side story line progression. The problem is that the developers decided to use existing FATES for the vast majority of the new content without adjusting them to meet the new requirements. The results have been predictable. You have players wasting an inordinate amount of time waiting for them to spawn when the could be making better use of their game time. It is too late for SE change this for ver 2.x. As long as it is confined to ver 2.x and new systems are designed for 3.x and beyond then I can live with it. If not then this game will nor survive beyond 3.x
Funny, because apparently, from what the forumites love to tell me, relic weapons are massively casual.
Relics seem to exist in this odd state where they are simultaneously beyond casual but also only for the hardest of core.
Greetings,
A portion of the English patch notes pertaining to the adjustments of certain FATEs was not included when Patch 2.5 went live.
We apologize for leaving this out, and we will be adding this information in as soon as we can.Certain FATEs that occur with a high frequency have been adjusted to appear less often. Furthermore, the frequency at which FATEs related to the Trials of the Braves occur has been increased.
