You have libra eorzea and the lodestone for char preview. No chat or access to market boards though.
We use FB chat and KiK messaging. Seems to do just fine. Most of us have a variant of Mumble on our phones. I always jump in mumble on my hour drive home just to B/S.

Technically there are apps for FC chat on mobiles, but it's third party and so pretty gray area. Not sure if there's anything for market board. As others have said, Lodestone more or less works for seeing your character.
The Libra Eorzea app has character data as well as a full database of gear, items, quests, crafting recipes, etc. It's like the Lodestone and XIVDB.com rolled into one and formatted for a mobile device, and makes for quite a useful reference tool. Unfortunately, its connection to the game servers isn't real-time enough to handle things like chat or the market board. I'm pretty sure it gets its character data from the Lodestone, and the rest of its database is stored locally within the mobile app (which gets updated with each new game patch).
That's the only official mobile app for the game.
Of course there are plenty of completely separate chat (especially voice-chat) programs that some FCs may choose to use, like the Mumble that Kael Raiju mentioned above. (Skype, Mumble, Teamspeak, Ventrillo, Raidcall, and probably others I don't know of.) Those you could access through your mobile device. But it depends on your FC and how much they use those third party programs versus how much they use the in-game chat channel, since using one won't tell you what's being said in the other.
Do they actually link into the regular FC chat channel that appears in-game? I wouldn't have thought a third-party app would have access to it (or to the market board for that matter).
Like a parser, they piggyback onto your game client. Unlike a parser... they inject data (chat data in this case), so it's a bit dicey. All in all, it makes me a bit too nervous to risk using it, though some of my more cavalier friends love it.
Parsers can do that because they are installed in the same pc that the game is installed. A mobile app dont belive can do that.
Sometimes I want to have some chat with my friend in FC or LS while I'm not online.
Hope that SE have some app like that.
