What is the next future Transportation?

We have boat, near future chocobos and Airship... and in a distant future I want a train too... ^_^, There has been a railroad system in past FF title. Well i want then when they open up the map a little bit show a new modern city with it technology aspect to it. I want a train... plz... make it happen

I think this would be pretty cool! The scenery in FFXIV is beautiful, especially on max settings, and it would be nice to watch it speed by ala cab rides in GTA4.

Well normally I'd say something like this wouldn't fit in, but in Nanawa they have carts on rails, so it's not like they don't have the technology to do in in their world. Unfortunately this would involve having to remodel the zones to fit a train track in (unless it's an instanced train which would just be boring) it's a lot of work for something like that. FFVIII trains were awesome though.

Ala Mhigo was invaded by a technologically superior nation not too many years ago. Though technologically proficient themselves, the Hyuran people were still defeated. The invading Garlean Empire, in a campaign to conquer all of Aldenard, have driven the Hyurans south and west, forcing one of three great Hyuran migrations. But with them, they managed to hold onto their engineering talents. For now, Ala Mhigo remains part of the Garlean Empire. The fall of Ala Mhigo ushered in a change across Eorzea, where the remaining five city-states organized a rough coalition.

Trains at garlean empire would be nice. But for other areas, chocobo balloon caravans would be nice too...just imagina a bunch of boat-like balloons pulled by a 1~2 chocobos...most chariages from this game are already balloon like (you can see them near Gridania entrance or in Vesper) so rails wouldn't even be needed.

I hope to see trains and in general far more tech when we finally get a chance to explore the Garlean Empire. I'm hoping they approach the capital Garlemald as they approached Archades in FFXII, let us explore it, even if it is the enemy's capital. Sneaky, sneaky.

It would great to see magitek trains and lots of other magitek, capturing the magic/steampunk vibe of FF6's world. I was disappointed with FFXI for never implementing the train, despite the existence of a station for one in Bastok, areas where they had removed train tunnels in Gustaberg and an entire zone devoted to the train still unfinished in the .DATs. Transportation in the Empire, as opposed to airships, (because unauthorized airships would be shot down) and even instances and story events aboard a train would be pretty spectacular. Trains made rather important appearances in FF6, 7, 8 and 13, so they're nothing new to the series.

I'd love to have some sort of ground transportation where you just picked your destination. One of the things I really liked about FFXI was you could see the airship landing and taking off, really created the immersion that flights were departing/arriving. Now it's just a CS (almost always skipped) that only the people in the airship zone see.

If we had ground transport, i'd like it to be in real time... be it train, wagon, chocobo caravan... just something real time so we can see something come to life in this game. I really enjoyed trying to arch my airship camera to see new angles and places, you had the whole world beneath you... was a cool experience! I really like the convenience factor of the newer airships, but it takes away from the immersion IMO.

(I know you can see airships come and go... but it's just not the same ^^")
