hmm guess not. I tried installing it through wine. When I get to the character select screen, my characters are invisible. When I log into the game, the graphics do not display. Only the UI does. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Yeah it works fine for me on the 17" 2011 macbook pro, inside mac Osx. I made a thread discussing it.

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...tive-windows-7

It has a link to the instructions to use for WINE to get the best performance. Works great in mac osx and is very stable - you can play in fullscreen mode without the game crashing, your computer can go into standby and still be online, you can open the appstore or other fullscreen guis and 14 doesn't crash or lag. Mac seems very optimized for 14.

I can't remember off the top of my head. I'm not home right now, but what I remember is it's a 15" i5 mbp with 4gigs of RAM bought new in 2011.

I've got a monster PC already, but thanks for the snarky comment.

I want to be able to run it on my Macbook Pro also for portability.

I dual booted windows a while back on my macbook pro 13 inch model and tried to run it, with no success there was way too much lag. Not sure about the higher up models though. Wish I could afford the better model with a higher end graphics card.
