How do you feel about the new poit allotment system?

Hello, i just wondering what's the general opinion on the new point allotment system and physical lvl abolishment
This is not a hate thread in any way, just wanted to share my opinion and check what others think about it.

Well to me the abolishment of physical level is very welcomed, but if i understand correctly now you have a point allotment screen diferent for every class. While this is probably simpler and makes your charachter good for every class... it just doesn't sit well with me, i mean i know it's a game and all but the fact that your physical atributes (the core of your charachter) change just like that depending what your grabing if a sword, a stick or a spoon...i don't like the way that sounds. I'm not saying i hate it, it will probably make my life easier and i have to try it but so far it just feels wrong.

Feel free to post you opinion

    Edited:
I should mention i'm refering to the upcoming system in patch 1.19 just to clear any confusion

    i like it.
the system that u say that doesnt sit well with you its because of the lack of quests for each class.
u pick up a pan and BAM ur a culinarian.
eventhough simple i like the class system.
And yes is like the abolishment of Physical ranks too.
let it be implemented and then we see how it works..

I love the idea of removing the point allotment system!
Heres the issue with it, if you want to play a DD and you alrdy lvled a mage you cant and if u try u will fail with no dex and str you will be weak to solo. If you do lvl up mage you only have two classes to play with, CONJ or THM. If u want to play anything else ull have to chose between mage or DD ur either a mage or a DD you cannot be both!
The beauty of FFXI is you could be anything you wanted to be but with this point allotment system your stuck and mage doesnt sound too fun with only 2 choices and thats all unless you want to spend an entire two days realotting all your points. And remember realotting points once you do it at 50 it take 4+ hrs to do it again.

cant wait for it to go!

yea fun is better then how you feel. Come on man you use a sword to fight a giant FIRE ORGE thats 20 feet tall and changing points is what feels wrong to you?

I will never understand people who rather spend hours on a stupid timesink then play a game and have fun. the game is not real its fake... when you understand that then mab some of these systems will make sense. i rather be able to use all jobs (in a fake not at all realistic world) to the fullest then wonder how i feel about changing points.

I see what ur saying and maybe i didn't explain myself well, i like the class system but let me compare this with real life

Example: You grab a sword in real life for the 1st time in your life let's pretend that makes you a level 1 Gladeator, you have no practice with it you don't know any skills, so you go down to the street and start murdering some animals maybe some people and u get to be a better gladeator with practice. With this you also get some str and maybe dex who knows right? Now imagine you go grab a book or a magic wand or whatever, why would your str points disapear and int increase? did you get skinnier? why did u sudenly become smarter?

This example was obviously for the lols but u get my point, like i said to me Status points are the core of ur charachter symbolizing how it grows, i imagine u studying and working out making ur stats in real life and making them change based on what object is in your hand seems cheap to me. again i know this is a game and i'm open to this system

my main problem till now was that i wanted to play melee and mage like i did in FFXI where my mains were summoner and samurai. You can still play every class on one character in XIV which is great but it wasnt perfect with our current system.
you could reasign points but it took a long time to completely change your stats from specialized mage to melee and vice versa.

with the new system you still get to customize your points (a little later), but for each class seperatly which is how it should be to really enjoy every calass without hours of waiting micromanagement. ^~^

Ahah well i understand it's a game for fun thank you very much, it's a world where everyone can teleport everywhere with "magical soul power" so i'm not looking for realism.... i just wanted to share an opinion, and some people just care about how things are done and the sense it gives the player.

comparing a fantasy mmo with real life can be ... well .. tricky.
i get your point and i partially agree but the thing is that what causing this "Reallity gap " if you will is not the point allotment system it is the lack of class quests.
i repeat that because if you did have to do a "Training" quest for each class the whole thing might be more digestable.
imho searching for realism in an mmo will just ruin your overall gameplay experience. there are tons of inaccuracies if we go on with this.

so i say enjoy the game as it is and dont overanalyze.

    still its ur call
