SE have any plans to keep White mages from being extinct?

I am not saying that the odd group will not have a white mage for the flavor but the way things are going both white mages and summoners will be in the same boat coming into the expansion. Why have a inferior white mage partnered up with a scholar when the new healer is looking to carry strong heals and add utility to complement the scholar and the absorb/mitigation mechanics it brings.

Yes I understand that people feel white mage is fine (when it isnt) paired up with a scholar but the only saving grace is because a white mage beats out double scholar from lack of shield stacking but that is the only reason a white mage is of any use. A scholar can prep for massive incoming damage with a properly time succor and rouse/whisper succor with sacred soil which beats out medica I II right now. Seeing a new healer is coming out will more then likely to be the death blow to white mages.

SE have any plans to give utility or some absorbs to the white mage?

New skills in expansion so every job will be re-balanced. Maybe they will give WHM something incredibly useful to use at lv60.

And with how Ninjas were introduced, I believe that White Mages will still find their place. We can only speculate what Astrologians can do, and I highly doubt that they will be a healing role that solely compliments Scholars. With the dev's class philosophy, they wish to have party slots open to all roles and not restricted to few. It's why some party compositions still include (very amazing) dragoons, summoners, and alike.

Sorry but you unless you are going to prove you are an SE employe or a high skilled healer your opinion has very little to back it up. Also just to point out WHM are doing perfectly fine. Only SCH lovers and people who cannot play as WHM seem to be complaining about WHM.

According to op, whm only appears fine when paired with a sch. So all those times I solo healed ex primals must have been a fluke... A fluke that happens like every night.

White mages will never die.

The current white mage to scholar ratio just from my personal experience is easily 2 to 1. Maybe even 3 to 1. People love their white mages.

OP is drunk. Nobody even knows what spells the new healer class is going to have. WHMs are still favored for their Holy spam, Medica, and Stoneskin II and they're still going to be needed when 3.0 comes. 3.0 will also move the level cap to 60, so WHMs will get new spells too.
