To the person whom asked about Hempen Crap, you rank so fast in the game for the first 20 ranks, its just not worth buying anything under Rank 20. If anyone put their mind to it, they can go from Rank 1 to 20 in ANY class in less than a day, and even in as little as a couple hours depending on what class they choose. Also the loss in durability/points in the gear from 1 to 20 is so minimal don't waste your time with those weapons, armors, tools, etc...
Anything to dumb down the crafting system is a bad idea, there are plenty of players whom enjoy the crafting system and don't really enjoy the battle system as much. You are favoring the Lazy Crafters whom think I should press 1 button do 20000 synths and become Rank 50 in whatever I want as long as I had the materials.
The last thing we need is for Crafting to become brainless, and become simple. If it takes 30+ minutes to gather materials for an item you want, you are going to value that item more. If you press the easy button and can mass produce them 1000 times easier, you will soon have everyone crafting everything, the materials you use to make items will cost 10 times more than buying the items and soon the economy fails. I hope the simplification only comes to the first 20 ranks and nothing after. There needs to be value to the crafting system, with dumbing it down, you are wasting all the hard work you put into making it the way it is.
PLEASE SE - DO NOT DUMB DOWN CRAFTING! IF ANYTHING MAKE IT HARDER!
People keep saying ooo there's already a thread about this, stfu, maybe this guy wants his own thread? It's a public forum.. he can put what he wants, he's not censored, if you know there's another one then go to that one, I mean really? Just bypass and move on not that big of a deal.. perhaps he wants to voice his own opinion and maybe its slightly different. Honestly the changes look great yoshi.P just said that crafting will be severely easier for 1-20 and harder for 21-40 and extremely difficult for 41-50.. sounds like what most were asking for.. I mean really guys don't flame the guy for posting his opinion let people make their own thread, does it really hurt you any?
IDK looking forward to crafting changes, plan to start alch again once this happens to at least check it out!

Anyone else find it amusing how we've seen 70+ pages on the topic (between all threads) and some people still post the exact same thing as they did on like page 1?QFT.
The complainers, at least to me, are people who are used to the current system, and don't want it to change for fear of either new competition, sudden realization that all their time has been wasted for naught, or have somehow forced themselves to find the complexity of it all 'fun' and 'rewarding' and don't want it dumbed down. Or some combination of these.

why make a second support thread when there is already one up
oh and i DO NOT like the crafting changes theres my 2 cents
i'm agree with new changes in the game but is i see people with many craft 50, they are hardcore seriously, ffxi players doesnt like new changes the like same obsolet system always
I'm on the fence right now. I was weary of auto-attack at first but I'm still plenty busy with the pace that the battle system is now so it's not as doom and gloom as I thought.
I'm saving my opinion until the materia system is released because honestly, with another system ON TOP of it the base system may need to be dumbed down a little bit to make room for the more in depth materia system. I'm hoping materia will be that part of crafting that separates the crafting only people from the casual crafters. As of now though I'm okay with even level ingredients, universal dyes, and dying after the fact, but a bit disappointed about parts removal. I actually thought that was cool and they just needed to stop making recipes have that weird R45 level ingredient for a R20 synth.
Yoshida all ready addressed a lot of the concerns that people had:

I personally like a lot of the changes, but the problem I have with oversimplification of gear synthing is that we will most likely have an over-saturation of lower to mid-level gear, essentially making it pointless for crafters to craft at all. Every crafter will just end up NPCing all of the gear that they make, because there would not be anyone that would want to buy it.
Yoshida partially addresses this concern in his comment that I posted above, but I still think that it is a fair concern. I all ready have a hard enough time selling gear with the current system, and there will be no incentive at all to craft gear for profit if it is so easy that 9 out of 10 people will be able to make gear on the fly.
Essentially, this change could, and most likely will damage the economy.

Because too bad for them, their demand is too low to get any supply. Most crafters are trying to plvling as fast as possible to reach top rank, because the demand for low level is too low to warrant any profit even if it's easy to make or not. Back at launch, hempen gear pieces come around 10k-40k a piece and they were aplenty for a while, even lead to massive price fall when most people moved on to next tier while Weavers have too large of inventory left over and no where to dump but NPC.Newer players who were hoping they could be just pure adventurers rank up at a pace where they don't have the gil to outfit themselves with the next step up. They go into their teens with weathered equipment and some quest drops. Limsa and Gridania wards are fairly empty. Ul'dah is dangerously overpriced for low and mid rank gear.
