Lightbulb [Suggestion] CAMPAIGN: New Frontlines Mode

    Frontlines (CAMPAIGN)
A Frontlines mode that isn't a timed 30min instance, but a 24 hour, 7 days-a-week ongoing battle with a final GC ranking tally at the end of the week. This mode also eliminates queuing problems altogether, makes it more accessibly streamlined for different play styles and also includes crafters/gatherers!

    Example flow of Campaign mode:
    • A solo player or pre-made party zones into a Frontlines map and is placed into their safe camp. Outside the gates of the safe camps the battle is always ongoing 24/7.
    • Players either form their own party/alliance within the safe camp or can decide to go solo. All these options still represent their GC faction and tally.
    • When ready to enter the battlefield, speak to a faction NPC at the gate to be let into the battlefield map.
    • KO'd players are returned to their faction's safe camp.

    • GC factions earn points for player KO's, roaming monster kills, destroying enemy stronghold fortifications and holding strongholds for a longer period of time. Points are tallied at the end of the week with the winning faction earning a buff bonus for the following week.
    • A set number of players within a faction can designate themselves as a Commander at any time. A commander has a special icon next to their name and on the map. Most players generally follow the orders given by a commander.
    • Randomly throughout the day during Campaign mode a random Primal will be summoned onto the battlefield. The faction that defeats the primal "tames" it instantly for a limited period of time to use against enemy factions.

      -Campaign Strongholds & Supplies-
    • Various strongholds are spread out around the map that can be controlled and fortified by a faction's battle players, crafters and gatherers using "Fortification Supplies".

    • Defensive fortifications such as repairing weak entrances and weapons along the stronghold walls by battle players and crafters using Fortification Supplies.
    • Offensive fortifications by enemy factions such as battling rams for gates and trebuchets for taking out walls can be created by battle players and crafters using Fortification Supplies.
    • Crafters can fortify strongholds faster than battle players and can even repair actively breaking fortifications. Crafters can be KO'd by enemy factions if targeted while unstealthed.
    • Gatherers can replenish "Fortification Supplies" to a stronghold. Gatherers can be KO'd by enemy factions if targeted while unstealthed.
    • A strongholds Fortification Supplies are limited and can be depleted if not replenished by Gatherers and/or enroute NPC Chocobo Caravans to stronghold. Starting supplies can initially be obtained at your faction's safe camp.

    • NPC controlled Chocobo Caravans routinely go on routes to strongholds to provide a huge boost of fortification supplies, but can be defeated and taken by enemy factions to block a strongholds supply growth.

Work in progress. Feel free to leave feedback. What's great about this Campaign mode is it allows you to hop in-and-out whenever you like freeing you from all queues of a timed instance while also satiating players looking for an always on PvP map.

inb4 the naysayers. I'd love an open world style PvP zone in game. If they can figure out a cool lore to go with it I can see it happening.

You can edit your original post to bypass the 1000 character limit. And this is still an instance really so not open world. It's interesting to say the least. Though for campaign I'd go with something more like start in one area and need to complete objectives to move to the next(similar to rush in battlefield). Though how to handle that 3 way could be interesting.
