Account Lag, no isp, no router, no pc, just account or char lag

I copy past this post from another user with the same problem. i found this post on resolved issues but i cant find the solution.

    "Elipse-odin"
Lag issue related to FFXI account not computer or ISP - 90k and lag
I have been experiencing lag issues for nearly 2 weeks now. Let me give you the TLDR that points me to this being an issue on SE side.

    Wife's account = no lag
    My account = lag

    Lag occurs:
-When I use my account on my computer
-When I use my account on my wife's computer

    No Lag Occurs:
-When I use my wifes account on my computer
-When I use my wifes account on my wife's computer

So the under the same conditions, my account gets lag and her's doesn't. Also, when we play at the exact same time, no lag issues for my wife, non stop issues for me.

    What's happening?

Basically the game is rubberbanding on me. Everything in the game will pause for various lengths of time and then quickly catch up to where every action happens at once and catches up to where it was supposed to be. I've also been getting 90k issues every say 15 minutes or so.

Note:The weird part about this is that my character does NOT pause, and I can continue taking actions without issues. Those actions DO get sent to the server and take place. So on my screen the enemies and other people are not moving, they are telling me on mumble they can see me moving and casting flash.

This appears to be a connection related issue on the "Receiving" side for the client (send for the server side). The client is sending data to the server properly, but the server is not sending it back properly for some reason.

Since no one will believe me...

    Basic setup:

Both computers use wired connections to an Asus RT-N56U.

Here are the things I tried when I thought the issue was tied to my computer:

    -Reset modem and router
-Plug the cable into a different port on router
-Replaced the network cable with a known good cable
    -Updated drivers on network cards
-Ran tracert on both computers to Sargatanas server IP. Both routes identical and in fact my computer had lower ms times.
-Fresh install of Windows and FFXIV
    -Bought a new network card
-Reseated every card/connection inside my computer
-Installed an older video card driver, just in case.
-Removed video card from computer and played with onboard video card.
-Disconnected all other drives except the SSD that has windows and ffxiv on it.
    -Updated firmware on SSD

At this point I was stumped and the lag still occurred every time. Then someone suggested I just try logging in my account on my wife's computer (that had no lag issues). It lagged!. After saying "WTF?" we tried logging my wife's account into my computer and NO LAG!. Again "Wtf?".

So at this point, the only thing I can think of, is that there is an issue with my account directly. I saw another forum post with a guy who's getting 90k's and the same type of lag. Everyone is blaming the ISP, but I'm starting to wonder if he's got the same problem I do.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Same problem my character lags a lot and my wife char work perfect, i tried everything and is just my char, no matters when where or how i use my char lags, and my wife chars not.

5 days till my account time end and i dont think this gonna be solved but anyway lets see if someone know whats happen.

Sounds like an issue with port forwarding. If you set manual forwarding or have UPNP forwarding enabled on the router, turn them off and let the NAT handle everything. Seem to recall us being able to toggle support for it on/off at one time in the game client, but can't seem to find it now (may have been 1.0 or a beta version, been a long time). The settings are still there in the config file though, as well as an assigned port ID.

It's just speculation, but if there is a mismatch between what the client/server is trying to use and what your router is getting configured to use, it could be causing issues. It is more commonly seen when port forwarding is manually set to forward to a specific device... but the same principle can apply if UPNP is doing the same thing. There have also been reports of some UPNP implementations not maintaining the port assignments properly after they are assigned and exhibiting stalling/dropping sessions as a result.

So if you have any kind of port forwarding set up, try turning it off to see if things improve. It should be an easy enough thing to toggle off/on in the router's config. If you set specific rules though, write them down just in case you need to go back and put them back in later.

NAT on your router should be plenty robust enough to manage the connections. I was doing it fine with an old 54G Netgear running the game on either a PC or laptop, my daughter playing games/videos on a mix of her laptop/ipod/phone/ps3, and one or two Rokus streaming video all at the same time. I NEVER set up port forwarding or use UPNP for games... never have needed to for nearly 20 years. The only time I have ever used it at home is for specific applications like torrents or RDP use--but even then I set just one specific port to be used solely for that purpose, and turned it off when not in use.

Idk wht you write so much w/o reading....

Is a SE problem, i play w/o problem and every change one day for no reason.

IS NOT ROUTER, ISP, PC, SOFTWARE, DRIVERS, Nothing is just that char.

I did read... perhaps you didn't.

If you have manually set port forwarding or are using UPNP port forwarding, you may have a mismatch in the configuration that is causing problems. Each character could be assigned to run on different port ID's, but if your routing rules don't account for that discrepancy it could exhibit the symptoms you describe. Outbound traffic goes fine, but inbound is knackered up.

Did you even check the router to see if UPNP is enabled or manual port forwarding was set up, just to rule that out?

I have been investigating this a little, asking in FC and posting around, it seems quite a few people are having the same problem and all with in the same time window, 2 weeks for some the last 4 days for others, due to the high numbers of people experiencing this quite suddenly I am guessing it Is a issue on SE end , with hope it will be fixed in 2.5
