As per https://www.facebook.com/FinalFantas...e=1&permPage=1, the winner used a screenshot of a memorial vigil and photoshopped their own character onto it.

However, the rules indicate you're not allowed to use Photoshop except to crop the image. Leaving aside whether it's in poor taste or not to use a memorial vigil and turn it into a cheerful picture (it's very distasteful), I'd like to ask clarification on why a violation of the contest rules is posted up as one of the winners?

Before people grab their pitchforks, they probably didn't realise when they found the picture, don't turn this into a witch hunt, that said, Photoshopping is against the rules, so really it should be disqualified.

Edit: I'm not defending the person who posted this, just saying, it's quite possible that they found the picture on Google Image Search and had no idea, because of this, a totally unaware player might get a whole lot of hate coming their way for something they didn't even know they'd done. If it was done intentionally, I think it's disgusting.

It's in the rules that the submitter has to take the screenshot themselves, so I'm going off on the assumption that at least that condition was fulfilled. If not, the winning "screenshot" breaks two rules and is incredibly distasteful to boot. I'm pretty disappointed and hope there is a good explanation from Square Enix for this negligence in assuring the rules are followed; and in this, I assume whichever team judged these did not catch on that it was a vigil serving as background.

While I agree in principle (image search happens), that's not a meaningful excuse for any part of this. There are at least two contest rules being broken by the image (no photoshopping, original captures only) to disqualify it - on top of the moral objections anyone might have to using this vigil for personal gain.
