    In standard dungeons you will end up with the item despite not rolling for it. If multiple people don't roll/pass, it'll randomly go to one of them as if they both greeded (except you won't see them roll any numbers)

    The change that was made to LotA, was so that loot wouldn't automatically be given if everyone except you left. You would still get it if you waited five minutes. This has been explained a few times before in this thread.

    You clearly never ran CT during early 2.1. The way you'll see people drop dungeons and Primal HMs before the chest even opens, that used to happen in CT. On top of that, there was no auto-skip cutscenes you had already viewed, so PS3/slow PC users would take 30 seconds to get the cutscene to start loading, skip it, then get back to the game.

    I have run into this issue, but I think that the 5 minutes to wait for loot to drop is the problem, not the auto-dropping loot. With the 5 minute wait time, you are often through the next trash pack and attacking the next boss before the 5 minutes are up so you don't get the chance to kick the leecher from the group. I wouldn't mind seeing the timer reduced on chests reduced to give groups a chance to kick people like that. Then again, a reduced timer is all the more reason to have loot that has not been rolled on auto-pass in these lockout areas.

    Somethng we're about to see again now that the weekly loot lock is back- people who get the drop they want and are thus loot locked for the rest of the week (which would raise the rest of the party's chances for remaining gear) leaving as soon as they get the item they want, which screws over the rest of the party by letting non-loot locked players join midway. Sure, getting replacements is usually better than having an empty slot on the team and this is no fault of those who join in progress, the expectation here isn't a revolving door into the party that those persevering through to the end facing worse odds than they should because whoever won the roll couldn't be bothered to complete the dungeon. Some people don't see it as a big deal, but if the first 4 chests all get rolled on and taken for example, that means that the remaining party members ordinarily each have a 1/4 chance for the next one. But if the party members who got what they wanted bailed by then, the odds for the remaining go down to 1/8 because non-locked people were let in. Ever see someone get replaced at the very last boss fight as someone pulls which has them locked outside the barrier, and they end up winning? It sucks for people who did all the work, and it's the newly loot-locked who are to blame. The selfish player who did this all the time were here before, and they're still here now, it's only the fact they have a chance at multiple Sands at the end of ST with the loot lock gone that we haven't seen this in a few months. So I know some people waited to pass until they were already in the next battle- they didn't want to make it easy for someone to drop and let another player in, especially near the end. Someone could find a way to D/C even if they couldn't exit, but the last boss of ST was easy enough with one missing DPS that we'd choose not to kick someone who did that so our odds on the final chests wouldn't go down due to a non locked person taking their place for the last 5 min.

    I know that. There was later another change that made it so that if you never lotted, you wouldn't get anything. Again, I know this because I was that guy that ended up with a few things I didn't mean to obtain before, and later on the chat log would instead just show "unable to obtain the whatever" even if I neglected to pass.

    When did this other change happen? Is there anyone else that can confirm this?
