Loot Auto-drop in WoD? Please fix ASAP

Rewards in the World of Darkness
    [...]
If time expires and a reward item is obtained automatically, this will also count toward the weekly limit.
In the past, if everyone except you passed an item you automatically received it, which caused you to get locked out of lotting unintentionally until the reset. This was fixed in later patches for CT and ST, but according to the patch notes gear will automatically drop in WoD.

I know it's an easy thing to pass each time gear drops, but it can also be easy to forget if you are engaged in conversation or happen to go afk at the wrong moment.

Bottom line, it's a major QoL thing that has been done to past raids and if it has not been implemented into WoD then it absolutely needs to be. Please fix before release or as soon as possible.

You have 5 minutes to roll on loot, once it has dropped. If you are the only person who has yet to roll (Need/Greed/Pass) then it will drop to you automatically, after those 5 minutes. This is the same system that is in place now.

5 minutes is more than adequate time to lot. If you aren't paying attention, or choose to go afk in the middle of a raid and get a piece of gear unintentionally - its your fault.

This used to happen in CT, and then it was updated via a patch.I think this is just a disclaimer in case the auto drop is inadvertently returned so they don't get 5000 support requests in one night from people used to not rolling in CT and ST. Conjecture on my part, I don't plan on testing this by not rolling.

It was never fixed, or at least I never saw any mention of this in a patch note.

I don't get how this happens. What are people doing between the end of said fight and the opening of the chest? It's not like there's some huge gap between one and the other.

The only time this was an issue was on final bosses. Boss dies. 7 people leave quickly, 8th guy got loot dropped in his pocket instantly. They never 'fixed' loot dropping to you after FIVE minutes. That's your own dumb fault. What they addressed was the final boss situation where if your party all left the instance it fell to you instead of giving you the full 5 min. Now you get the full 5 min still.

You got 5 min. That's plenty of time to click pass.

I was just going to mention this. Perhaps this is the fix I was thinking of instead.

Working as intended... you join a raid to raid, not to afk or to chat

This was adjusted later in LotA and ST (back when they still had lockouts). In those instances following the adjustment, if you didn't roll, it was considered a "pass" and you wouldn't get the item. This was adjusted specifically for those instances in response to all the people who complained about having items inadvertently fall to them.

The actual issue there was that if 7/8 people left right away after the boss, the item would drop to the remaining one person immediately if they hadn't passed.

There's a big difference between that and having 5 minutes to lot/pass.

I'm not buying your lack of awareness excuse. Loot drops after bosses die. Everyone knows this that will be running WoD. Thus, you are aware that loot will be dropping. Because loot only drops after a boss dies, there is nothing in the raid itself that could possibly be distracting you from noticing that loot is there to be needed/greeded/passed on. You're not "busy paying attention to the raid". You are simply not paying attention. Could be chatting, could be afk, your house could be on fire. You are there to raid, not to chat. It takes 2 seconds to lot before you afk. If your house is on fire, the loot lockout is likely not really a concern anymore.
