You cannot give one single reason why making this change would hurt anyone, so your argument is irrelevent.
This thread has become nothing but fighting between elitists and the "casuals" they hate so much.

You are on the same server/data center - you should have probably seen some of the leecher that purposely get locked out or afk most of the fight. They are rare but they do exist.
By making the loot pool auto pass is giving them a free pass to AFK full time after the first loots dropped - they now don't even have to pass the item and it makes it harder to kick these trolls.
With the current rule now, at least they are forced the pass the item - and the longer they wait, the more risk they screw up their weekly loot so many would pass soon and easier to kick them.
But seriously 5 minute is more than enough, it is a small price to pay for not paying attention to loot, which is probably why you are even raiding WoD - the thing about 7/8 people leaving the dungeon and loot dropping to you is already fixed, won't happen anymore.

I have run into this issue, but I think that the 5 minutes to wait for loot to drop is the problem, not the auto-dropping loot. With the 5 minute wait time, you are often through the next trash pack and attacking the next boss before the 5 minutes are up so you don't get the chance to kick the leecher from the group. I wouldn't mind seeing the timer reduced on chests reduced to give groups a chance to kick people like that. Then again, a reduced timer is all the more reason to have loot that has not been rolled on auto-pass in these lockout areas.
You think people ending up with loot they didn't intend to obtain in a situation where you can only get one thing per week and you're therefore meant to carefully choose what you want to obtain is "working as intended"We ain't forcing anything on anyone - we just saying things are working as intended - and it works fine the way it is and we would like it to not change.
okay

Those are preliminary patch notes.
Are you serious right now?
Honestly, there are so many translation errors and mistakes in there...

There's plenty of time to roll on the loot between the opening of the chest and the next pull.
Not the issue. There could be eleventy zillion minutes before loot distributes and it won't matter if someone just plain forgets to lot/pass.There's plenty of time to roll on the loot between the opening of the chest and the next pull.
Someone who doesn't lot still shouldn't be getting loot in an instance where how much loot you can obtain is limited, period.

Give it up, you're just digging yourself deeper with each post. As it has already been repeated over last 6 pages, 5 min is plenty of time to lot. If you can't lot in that time frame on a regular basis, you're just being plain lazy.
