PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG: Can we have latest build of 2.0 on disc with expansion?

I know this might be a tall order now but can we please have the latest build of 2.0 that you can include with the disc the expansion comes on?

I have Comcast and even this day and age they impose a GB limit on my internet. You might think man how can you use all that bandwidth? Well believe me it can go fast when your streaming off Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, & Vudu. But the real issue is 4 of us in same house all play on ps4, ps3, and pc whatever we need to use at the time. That's 16 separate installations I have to maintain.

Plus that don't count the free psn games we get each month, any other games we buy and download, or our steam libraries of games. The stuff just goes on and on and on. We don't reinstall everyday or update each day but when we do it can add up to a lot of usage.

In other words there are those months where I am capped and it is not fun. Just having the build on the cd or dvd will help tremendously. Even just including 2.5 or 2.55 will help a ton. Is there any way we can get this request in to the right people in time for the build to go RTM? Any assistance would be very appreciated and I am sure other people in the community might just find this useful as well.

you could always get an external HD and copy the data yourself.
And yes this advice includes PS3/4 users.
They won't have an "on disc" inclusion until 3.0, and even that will require a patch since often there can be a difference in what gets put on the disc and what goes live.

Fair Use is such a unfair policy. but you make it sound like they did this in the past, they didn't. This Fair Use policy bullshit is recent within a few years. Only way you might get rid of it is by gathering all their costumers and getting everyone to harrass Comcast about it. Good luck in that.

I too am on a fair use scam but it's much much less so downloading a game is almost out of the question, not due to bandwidth but due to data cap. I thought we paid for internet service for entire month, not for a week then the other 3 weeks we are SOL.. >

I was hoping they would have some kind of Ultimate Edition after 3.0 comes out that would include ARR and Heavensward for future installs. They used to do that with XI's expansions, so not entirely improbable.

Umm.... The physical copy will have the latest client... that's just standard protocol. I'm not sure why you think it wouldn't be. All the data on the disc will be the latest version with the exception of any updates that come after the discs are made -- which would only be a small update.

The only catch is that you'll need the original game to install it, so people that don't have ARR won't be able to just buy heavensward and get the original game.

Reality is that Optical Disk Production/Distribution is fairly cheap for the average game developer.
This price can increase as game releases patches, hot-fixes or expansions that requires additional disks.

However, Online Distribution is much cheaper, faster and more secure (economically). Therefore Online Distribution wins.

Another factor is that people prefer DLC nowadays over taking a trip to their local GameStop store. Personally, I have not stepped inside a GameStop since... 2007 or so... But that's just me.

Man some crazy answers but oh well. All I am asking for and asking is the word here not demanding, is a chance for them to include arr install discs or the client on the heavansward dvd. They don't have too of course but it don't hurt to ask. I'm assuming that the expansion disc for now are only going to be the 3.0 content and those of us w/o discs are going to have to re down 2.0 if we ever reinstall. Having the client on the 3.0 discs would help prevent that in the future. Things come up and you have to reload sometimes. Not all but still some of us do. If they say no then oh well they say no. I'm ok with that. I just want them to know I am asking and see where it goes from there.
