Idea for off-hand SCH gear

You only ever see the Scholar use their other hand when summoning, so most of the time they are only using the book one-handed. I suggested at one point they should at least be given a buckler (something on the wrist maybe?). Now I'm thinking the most ideal off-hand piece of equipment for them would be a pen (quill, of course, heh).

I don't care what the stats are. It could only increase Spell Speed for all I care, lol. Just give us something for that empty slot already!

Makes sense that a quill or something similar would be used. In fact, during the summoning animation, I believe they use one.

What they should do though is adjust summoning animation because elements of Garuda and Titan don't seem to relate to Eos and Selene in any way.

Except when it's not, you mean. The WAR weapon is two-handed. The only time you see a Scholar using two hands with the book is during a summon (and the off-hand is used to write).

A book is most certainly not two-handed, I can assure you, lol. There's absolutely no reason why it should be either. Whenever you pop DOTs, heal, etc. they always use one hand while their off-hand is doing... Well, nothing (actually, that's not entirely true since they sometimes flick their wrist ).

This would just be annoying since now like Paladins you would have to farm another drop to keep your ilvl up. Kill shiva ex - we got a True Ice Sharpie. "God dammit the pen again! Nobody wants that!"

This is honestly an issue... I really don't get why they ended up doing this... Having a second item to equip in offhand is great for itemization, yet only Paladin gets that. They should be consistent; either every Job gets one weapon, or every Job gets two. There is no reason they couldn't put shield stats on swords and bundle the two in one item. In fact, given the chief reasoning they give whenever people ask for more inventory space and the like, they probably should. It would save space that could be better used for a better Glamour system or Fishing Tackle Box...

There's no reason to include an essentially pointless stat-stick into an already crowded loot pool.
