    If a FC is full and each player has 4 retainers, that's 2048 characters on the front lawn.
    Please tell me I'm missing something.

    you missed the part where the house has a max retainer limit.

    small = 1 garden gnome, medium = 2 garden gnomes, large = 3 garden gnomes you can now place on the lawn. You also need to buy a permit to place them like the shopkeepers inside the house.
