Retainers and FC's Not Useful?

All of this. If it's just repurposing a PRIVATE RETAINER to be able to sell items on the lawn, all profits going to the owner of said retainer with no other purpose to this... What's the point? The member gets the money, has control of the retainer and only FC Members get access to the items sold that are also being sold on the MB... It really seems redundant. The one nice thing is you can show off a retainer to other people but other than that...? Nothing new is being added, it's really ultimately just a glamour item. Eye Candy. You're not getting any more storage space or market slots so it's underwhelming.

Having a Retainer for the Free Company, that has more storage for the FC, Free Company member sales as well as Market board sales, all proceeds go to the free company chest, well this would be USEFUL. On top of that you have a Retainer with custom appearance that you can show off. To make the most of it you'd need to add ventures in order to equip the retainer but hey, that would be helpful too, as the retainer can be used to get needed crafting materials, crystals, shards ect and be helpful in various ways and by being an FC entity you are not the only one managing it. There would be a lot of work to be able to properly set the retainer permissions, (instead of just a toggle on or off switch) but hey, this would be WORTH IT.

wholeheartedly agree! Like what if an FC wanted to use a retainer as a 'shop' for that FC? Like put up krakka roots or choco snack food or crafting materials on it to sell to FC members for a huge discount price from the MB prices. Cuz it will be a way to help raise/fund gil for the FC and since ppl are buying it at a discount price the gil is going towards the FC and not into someone else's personal retainer. However with the way SE seems to have it set up it backfires cuz soon as you place your 'shop' up anyone looking at the MB can buy it as well. They are more or less a yard decoration.
