Retainers and FC's Not Useful?

If you want to avoid the small walk, you can save the expense of putting a summoning bell in your house, you can just put your retainers there instead. This is the practical advantage, from my point of view. Few people will go around the residential area shopping at retainers when they can go to a market board and see all the retainers.

By the way, an in-home market board, like the in-home summoning bell, would be a nice addition. The only drawback is you wouldn't meet that much your neighbours at the market board, or residential areas would maybe look emptier, but it would be very nice to have the possibility of having the market board inside the house.

If you want to buy from a friend (maybe more expensive than the best buy) you can use his retainer if he has a visible one, usually you don't know the names of your friend's retainers. Not the most probable use, though.

There's also the visual thing of seeing retainers, the gear they have, etc. as others have said.

The problem I have with setting the retainers in the yard is that they didn't higher how much stuff you put in your yard.

So you have to remove stuff in order to put your retainers outside.

Not sure if mansion or medium houses can put more stuff in the yard but why limit by size on outside, if someone wants to pack their yard full of tree's they should be able to do so sure a limit should be set but you get yard to look very very empty with only a few things in it for example.

Stepping stones and you make them go straight to your door then you only have room for like couple more items outside so stepping stones is a bad idea.
As for the retainer thing is not flying cause I don't want to remove things from my yard.

seeing the above statement - Grekumah/SE would it be possible to add a setting/checkbox to retainers that does not let them list on marketboard and they only can sell directly/locally. This eliminates the whole FC only retainer while giving crafters and FC's the option to throw items for FC people (or people who visit the FC house) items at cheaper than marketboard prices.

I own a private small and my retainer works just fine in my front yard. It would be nice if you could tell if something was actually purchased on the market board or using the retainer at the housing location. The concept of 1, 2 or 3 retainers for a Free Company is a bit silly however given how one determines who puts theirs out could be an issue. I see this creating more drama than it's worth.

What I'd like to see done for 2.51;

• Update the Market Board user interface to display a Retainers locations (Zone: Ward: Plot) if applicable.
• Make it so sales from estates take the 5% tax off for the buyer, and thus the seller.
• Done.

I sell something for 10,000G. Place my Retainer on my estate. People buying off the Market Board pay 10,000G, I get 95% of that after the tax, so 9,500G. People visiting my estate automatically get a 5% discount, so they pay 9,500G and I still obtain 9,500G. I'm potentially better off getting more sales from savvy buyers, though I still make the same amount on an item, buyers are better off getting a discount and Wards are better off getting more traffic from buyers. Que drama because not everyone gets a House.

Only other issue is that Lalafell Retainers look ridiculous behind that desk; Outdoor version of the Lalafellian Stepstool please.
