    Borderland Ruins (Slaughter) 2.5 Mode

    So, since the patch notes are out, what do you think about the new frontlines?
    I did read it and i think its kinda sounds awesome but there is one thing that totally bothers me.

    Pre mades will be strong as fuck. We will see even less healers in there because the whole game mode is heavily focused on killing streaks and overall dd-power. While reading the patch notes, i havent found anything worthfull to go in as healer. Dds are getting achievements for killing ppl, they get damage bonuses of ridiculous 40% while killing ppl and the healer, he gets nothing at all.

    Pre mades can go in with 2 heals and 6 dds. So idk but how can you even kill a pre made wich does have organised healers while thier dds can kill all incoming enemys in a matter of seconds with ridiculous high damage bonuses?

    Pre mades were strong in frontlines, but a random enemy group always had a at least a chance to bring them down, because pre mades didnt got major buffs for being superior.

    But for the new mode, i dont see any chance for random groups to compete against pre mades.

    yeah looks like pugs will suffer will have to hope some people still enjoy pvp healing. Complain to much healing, solution punish healers.

    I don't see anything changing. Premades were strong before, they will be strong now. Except now you have the legitimate option of running away and keeping away.

    Yeah, I'm expecting a lot more people to run now. Heavy, sleep, bind and stuns are going to be huge.

    They also make you invulnerable for a short time after you respawn probably to avoid people from spawn camping.

    I'm also a huge fan of the damage bonuses because there will be far fewer prolonged battles and stacking healers will be far less effective.

    This is true. Premades (especially on voice chat) have and will still continue to have a distinct advantage. With anything, really.

    I understand your concerns. But Healer-heavy parties turtling on flags in FL was so ridiculous. Its about time something was released where the object is to defeat enemies more than occupying an area and keeping it. This is exactly what I asked for in the thread about healer stacking where the central focus on a new FL goal is on kills.

    I will acknowledge these as potential problems. But in my time playing FL, I notice that more often than not, majority of the party queued as DPS/tanks. If this new FL mode proves that stacked DPS is beneficial as it was detrimental in the "Secure" FL, then I actually look forward to it.

    The Meta game of Slaughter could be far different from what you are worried about:
    • Tanks may have a far easier time holding on to the chain kill boosts because of greater hp. Played well they can already 1v1 any equally geared melee dps.
    • Healers will likely become important for score denial rather than score gaining.
    • DpS are still fairly soft targets so killing them may be far easier than you think.

    I admit, I think it's pretty interesting. The adrenaline rush thing looks like a pretty nice change I think, just because it seperates the limit break and, hopefully, isn't quite as powerful. I swear, if every dd gets a instant kill move, I'mma lose it.

    And on the note of dps getting acheivements, yeah, there will probably be less healers interested in this mode for that. Most people go into pvp to kill stuff and now we'll have a kill stuff mode. Still, I think it's worth keeping in mind that healers will be the ones keeping those kill streaks both by being the go-to target for most dps and by healing off the damage their own dps are taking.

    They gave this mode a comeback mechanic, but premades are still rule the game. It's not really a big deal though. Should definitely be less turtle-ly than the... "secure" mode.

    DPS limit break better not be a one shot or I can't see healers lasting long in the new mode as DPS always outnumbers healers.

    I don't know. I just feel like there's no way they didn't prepare something for healers so they'd also have a way of gaining points ( That doesn't have to do with DPS-ing ).

    This actually has me quite worried... Flags in Frontlines (Secure) filled the role of splitting up the Alliance, I think large scale PvP like this needs objectives like that to keep it from just becoming a zerg rush... The only thing Frontlines (Slaughter) has is the monster spawns, hopefully they work out to be enough to split Alliances up to cover more ground... If not... Well, people can still turtle... Just now it will be an entire Alliance rather than one or two parties and they'll be doing it anywhere with minimal points loss as long as people still feed them.

    Really wish the monster bonuses also applied to killing enemies with Battle High/Fever as well, just to encourage killing them. Hopefully the monsters themselves encourage hunting them down (if they randomized the locations they could actually be what I wish Hunts were...) and thus encourage scouting. Would love to see Ninja and Bard get some minor buffs to scouting with this if that's the case; let them put down a totem that lets party members teleport to that location, that'd be great.

    Speaking of teleporters... Really hope that doesn't compound the current 90k issue...
