Thread: Patch 2.5 Preliminary Notes Discussion

While it may not seem very flashy at first, this patch looks to have SO much good stuff in it! Lots of Quality-Of-Life improvements especially. Highlights:

They're preventing any accidental duplicate buying by players who might've bought a Book already and forgot they did. Nice! -

"Attempting to purchase items consumed upon use that you already possess, such as chocobo barding or master recipe books, now will cause an message prompt to display.

* For untradable items, a message prompt will indicate the item cannot be purchased.
* For tradable items, a message prompt will appear, confirming if you wish to purchase the item."


Looks like we can now TRY ON any item/gear that your friends / FC / LS link in the Chat Window! That's so convenient!

"When appearing in the log window, all items will now contain an item link.
The item subcommand menu (Search for Item / Item Link / Try On / Item Comparison) can now be used with the following:

* Item links in the chat log
* Achievement reward icons
* Supply and provisioning items in the Timers window"


They finally FIXED the awful (unbalanced) Ixali Crafting Quest, "A High Wind in Ishgard"! While I had no problems finishing it, it was DEFINITELY way more difficult than it needed to be for a *Level 16* Crafting Leve (supposedly). Glad it helps people who had trouble with it (and didn't have all Crafting Classes maxed):

"The difficulty of crafting isolator components and auxiliary aerodynamo components in daily beast tribe quests has been reduced." (FYI: Isolator Components are the items needed for "A High Wind in Ishgard" Levequest.)


I wonder what the New Allagan Catalyst Item is for? At least it's bringing people back to Crystal Tower 1 and Syrcus Tower (to help newbies out):

"・Players can now obtain an Allagan catalyst from the Labyrinth of the Ancients and Syrcus Tower.

* Labyrinth of the Ancients
The treasure coffer that appears upon defeating Amon."


So glad they're adding in New Crafting Recipes withOUT needing a New Crafting Book!

"New recipes have been added to master recipe books.
Players can acquire master recipe books from the NPC Talan in Mor Dhona at Revenant's Toll (X:22 Y:6) after completing the quest "Just Tooling Around."

* In the event you have already acquired a master recipe book, your crafting log will be updated with the new recipes automatically."


Yay for the REMOVAL of Desynthesis Level / Points Loss, unless you're at Max. And a Desynth Level Cap Increase.

"The level cap for desynthesis has been increased.
* The level cap for each class has been increased from 100 to 110.110
* The cumulative skill point maximum has been increased from 300 to 350.350

Skill levels will no longer decrease if your combined skill level is not at the maximum."


Of course, the World of Darkness, 3 New Dungeons, Gilgamesh, Odin Battles... hopefully they're fun!

Can't wait!
