Wow, the new Frontlines looks pretty fun; lot of great QoL changes too. This patch looks great!

Indeed, but why are they keeping current Frontlines version? Am I missing something? o.o

Why... Wouldn't they? Variety is a nice thing... Why would they remove one game mode when they add another?

Because some might prefer that one? Let's just hope this doesn't split the players too badly, and cause the other version have even more horrendous queues than now. 8v8v8 should help, though.

I bet you can't queue for both at the same time.

Yep, the community will be splitted.
BUT, not only they removed 16v16v16, allowing 8v8v8 to pop more often, but they'll be adding a PvP Roulette for Frontlines.
If the rewards are good enough, it should bring more people into the PvP scene and maybe things will smooth themselves.

* WARNING SPOILER ALERT* Im thinking the mystery trial will be a Hard (or Extreme) version of Gaius van Baelsar since he escaped in the main story and was a complete faceroll to be the main antagonist. Would be a good way to end the 2.X series. What do you guys think about it? EDIT: this is why i dont need to skip cutscenes when ppl say to, i never go back and watch in the inn. Just read he dies in Prea in an explosion after Ultima Weapon is defeated >.>

Considering the ??? trial has an achievement for completing it called 'Secret Ascian Man' most are assuming it'll be a battle with an Ascian; likely Lahabrea or Nabriales. Given that 2.5 is the conclusion of the current main scenario arc it makes sense that we'd have a battle with one of the actual main villains rather than just another primal.

Yeah i see that now. Even better!
