I can understand your frustration Amiantos, but i think the bigger problem is that #1- this MMO is more designed for everyone to be able to play, no matter the skill lvl, age of person, etc. And #2- you have MMO veterans who are playing that have an expectation of how people are supposed to play mmos because of their experience in other MMO's. There are alot of people playing that this is their first time ever playing an MMO. Add to that that this is the only one on a console, which caters to a whole different demographic of players moreso than PC. Consoles are easier to access, easier to buy games for, etc. So i think what needs to happen is that people need to take it easy on what they consider is easy and also consider that many players are new to this type of genre. This is far from being a hardcore MMO and if you just take it lightly, you will enjoy it more.

Er, no offense, but tell that to Imdugud's "the group must have 2500 party DPS or I soft enrage and end your attempt at 10%," or Nael's "HA HA! How many meteors are on the field today? One, two, three..."

Except for the fact that it's not, sure. Is there a lot of easy content made to be accessible to a large number of players? Sure. Is there content that only the top players can complete? You better believe it. That's far from the "everyone gets a trophy" people seem to think exists. WoW is the same way, but people who have never done more than leveling will be quick to say otherwise (just like this game).

MMO vets expect people to read what their abilities do and actually use them. Using them wrong is kind of forgivable. Not using them at all? No excuse, even if its your first time playing a video game in general. You don't need to be a hardcore MMO vet to know that when a move says "additional damage from behind", that you shouldn't hit the mob in the face with it.

    Wrong.

What is easy is pushing a button and having the next one you need to push light up and flash in your face. People can't even do that though, so, you know...

Almost every single twitch stream has a visible dps meter: ACT most of the time. Surely SE knows this.

I would draw the conclusion that people want it for their convenience. You will always have people who'd abuse tools unfortunately.

SE always emphasizes on how they love to have balance. I honestly think SE doesn't want such a meter because it will show the "balance". When every single person can see how for example melee are 80 dps in front of casters most of the fights, the forums will get flooded just like how we see so many SMN threads (and I agree with them for the most part). People tend to look at numbers only and then judge.

Having said this, I do want a dps meter. All the info SE got about DRG and SMN dps didn't come because people "felt" it was low. Every single parse showed it (just like how SMN does not have sustained dps in long fights (FCOB) atm due to mana issue's). I do hope 3.0 will come with a parser.

I will say this again: just because people like to throw with popcorn, doesn't mean your local cinema should stop selling popcorn. So, just because there is a small group that would go: "OMGZ your MONKZ is doing 20 dps LOWerZ than MineZ", doesn't mean... etc.

Yeah but people will be able to show SE proof that Summoners need to be fixed and they don't want to deal with that.

Two main things about this game's battle content:

    1. There's group-level DPS checks. DPS checks aren't always the responsibility of a lone individual.
    2. Most battle content involve either 4-man, 8-man, or 24-man - ie. everyone has to work as a team. Everyone works in the team, based on the role they queued for.

It's one thing to be calling out people for self-perceived low DPS, but sometimes you run into people who pull REALLY low numbers (ie. Warrior pulling more DPS than MNK for example). It really isn't the responsibility of the rest of the group to suddenly up their game to account for the lack of ability from this one player. While you may argue about protecting the fun of said player, what about protecting the fun of the 7 other players who are trying to clear said content?

I don't have an issue as long as we meet the group DPS checks, but if we are not able to, I wouldn't be able to tell who could further improve. The fact that there's DPS checks almost everywhere, but no way to actually measure DPS, outside the use of certain tools which I will not talk about, is a bit of an irony.

This remembers me a time someone pulling off the Knight in ST and let us not chain it, making the full 24 ppl alliance wipe. Someone works alone for the lulz to do that. One player able to screw 23 other players was epic.

I agree that it should be possible to at least see your own DPS in game.

If there's still a concern about harassment, It could even be disabled in Duty Finder (People tend to troll a bit more in duty finder, possibly because its unlikely they'll encounter the same players again!).

This is an pratice in redundancy. SE has, on multiple accounts, responded to this request in the negative citing reasons of how people will abuse such mechanics. As a compromise, they did say they would create missions that would encourage players to learn their roles better, including teaching DPS how to operate their classes to increase their performance.

My concern is when these so called training missions are going to be released to us. We're not getting a DPS meter. We've been told we're not getting a DPS meter, more than once.
