It doesn't instruct you on your rotation, but what it does do is let you know whether your numbers are where they should be for the gear you have equipped. For example, if you have two BLMs with gear of about an equal ilvl and one of them is parsing 200 DPS more than the other, it's pretty clear that the one with the lower number is doing something wrong with their rotation. Once you have that knowledge, you can look into the whys behind it.
Without the numbers, chances are good that you might not even realize you're doing something wrong.
Yeah, it'll be nice if they have something similar to PvP where it shows your individual dps, kills, heals, etc once the dungeon/ trial is done.
Just let me see my OWN DPS/HPS.
I just want to be able to say, "Okay, if I do this, this, this and this, does my HPS go up or down?" without having to beat my head against a log file for several hours.
Hi,
Last year a "friend" strongly encouraged me to download, and
use a public-domain or freeware parser application, in tandem
with the client. Thank goodness I declined.
I found out later, (this came out in a DEFCON conference) from
various sources that there are parser applications containing
-- malware
-- viruses
-- keyloggers - specifically designed to forward client information
straight to the RMT criminal organizations.
Don't believe it? That's fine. There are people in Changshshi, China
who know exactly what to do with keylogger retrievals.
