DPS numbers are good and all, but not dodging plumes/dives/divebombs tend to wipe a party too. I just know what I'm getting into when I join a party. People are far too fixated on numbers to realize that if you die, your DPS becomes 0. I'd rather run with someone with slightly low DPS that can stay up in Titan EX versus a DPS god that dies on the first plume (which happens far more often than most admit - and I turn it into a drinking game). So it mean that you prefer to actually "enjoy" that sort of experiences over and over? It is very difficult to find a good "farm" party with party finder, it is very rare to be surprised by the quality of your mates when doing something with strangers.
I don't know for you but the wiping/carrying experiences with party finders isn't something I personally enjoy. That's the reason why I no longer join them.
Bad leaders exist everywhere on every servers, total-jerks are well know for being jerks by others and an ingame parser service will not change anything about them.
But a personal parser would be an incredible tool for self improvement, very needed since the game isn't going to teach you anything the hard way when it come to endgame contents during your leveling process.
But that's the difference between a "Learning" group, a "Going for clear", and a "farm" group. Each have an explicit expectation on skill (aka how good you are with MECHANICS).
Almost every single twitch stream has a visible dps meter: ACT most of the time. Surely SE knows this.
I would draw the conclusion that people want it for their convenience. You will always have people who'd abuse tools unfortunately.
SE always emphasizes on how they love to have balance. I honestly think SE doesn't want such a meter because it will show the "balance". When every single person can see how for example melee are 80 dps in front of casters most of the fights, the forums will get flooded just like how we see so many SMN threads (and I agree with them for the most part). People tend to look at numbers only and then judge.
Having said this, I do want a dps meter. All the info SE got about DRG and SMN dps didn't come because people "felt" it was low. Every single parse showed it (just like how SMN does not have sustained dps in long fights (FCOB) atm due to mana issue's). I do hope 3.0 will come with a parser.
I will say this again: just because people like to throw with popcorn, doesn't mean your local cinema should stop selling popcorn. So, just because there is a small group that would go: "OMGZ your MONKZ is doing 20 dps LOWerZ than MineZ", doesn't mean... etc.

Yeah but people will be able to show SE proof that Summoners need to be fixed and they don't want to deal with that.
Er, no offense, but tell that to Imdugud's "the group must have 2500 party DPS or I soft enrage and end your attempt at 10%," or Nael's "HA HA! How many meteors are on the field today? One, two, three..."
video games are bad
Two main things about this game's battle content:
1. There's group-level DPS checks. DPS checks aren't always the responsibility of a lone individual.
2. Most battle content involve either 4-man, 8-man, or 24-man - ie. everyone has to work as a team. Everyone works in the team, based on the role they queued for.
It's one thing to be calling out people for self-perceived low DPS, but sometimes you run into people who pull REALLY low numbers (ie. Warrior pulling more DPS than MNK for example). It really isn't the responsibility of the rest of the group to suddenly up their game to account for the lack of ability from this one player. While you may argue about protecting the fun of said player, what about protecting the fun of the 7 other players who are trying to clear said content?
I don't have an issue as long as we meet the group DPS checks, but if we are not able to, I wouldn't be able to tell who could further improve. The fact that there's DPS checks almost everywhere, but no way to actually measure DPS, outside the use of certain tools which I will not talk about, is a bit of an irony.
This is an pratice in redundancy. SE has, on multiple accounts, responded to this request in the negative citing reasons of how people will abuse such mechanics. As a compromise, they did say they would create missions that would encourage players to learn their roles better, including teaching DPS how to operate their classes to increase their performance.
My concern is when these so called training missions are going to be released to us. We're not getting a DPS meter. We've been told we're not getting a DPS meter, more than once.
I think this game has no personal skill what so ever needed ever. Every single end game stream has as much numerical information on screen as possible. Nobody cares about skills animation, their eyes are glued to skill cooldowns and hp bars. I laugh very hard at all those coil fights, to me it is SO stupid to have screen stutter from those skills and rainbows so bright it can cause epilepsy, when all realy matters is just smooth number managment. The whole raiding is just team managment of button pressing at timed intervals. I repeat not once I have ever encauntered that my skill mattered. My so called dps induvdualy is of no importance i cant survive a single mob in latest patch dungeons in current gear, no matter how i try. Thinking about it makes me want to say this is absurd debility of MMO's in current stage. I realy dream of game worlds like sword art online in aincrad state, Where there is only swordfighters and none of that shit called tanks or healers.
In the same way that all games are just a matter of pressing buttons at the right time, amirite?I think this game has no personal skill what so ever needed ever. Every single end game stream has as much numerical information on screen as possible. Nobody cares about skills animation, their eyes are glued to skill cooldowns and hp bars. On a more serious note, having personal DPS meters is pointless because only people who actually care about their numbers will use them and those who want to be toxic will just ask for screenshots of the results from the other DPS members and will kick/insult people if they don't provide them or if their numbers are too low.
The issue is that everything but Coil and Extreme primals are facerolls so when people get to harder content, they keep playing in the same way and wonder why they're not winning. SE either need to make everything possible via faceroll or have gradual difficulty increases in 'mainstream' content so that people have to learn how to play better. Going from Snowcloak to T5/9/13 is less a difficulty curve and more a sheer cliff.

This remembers me a time someone pulling off the Knight in ST and let us not chain it, making the full 24 ppl alliance wipe. Someone works alone for the lulz to do that. One player able to screw 23 other players was epic.
