Still find it funny how SE doesn't want people getting locked out from content for low DPS (which is why they keep saying no to parsers) but keep adding tight dps checks in most endgame raids.

Also the worst of all, DPS mains with shit DPS dragging down any party they're in without noticing it themselves.

At least once they know that they're doing badly they might try doing their research and finally improve.

Just about every kill video (including those acknowledged by SE) for endgame content on youtube, the players are using a 3rd party parsing tool. The only way you'll get banned for using one is if you use parsing results to harass people for low dps.

    Case in point.

The group to accomplish this amazing feat was Lucrezia, making them the first Japanese group to claim the title of world first. Congratulations on a job well done!
A number of free companies were competing to be the first to clear all four turns, and the dev team would check their logs daily, waiting to see who would be the first to finish. Following close on Lucrezia’s heels was Collision, who were actually first to clear the third floor. They put forth an incredible effort, clearing the final floor mere hours after Lucrezia. The third free company to overcome the final coil was Death and Taxes, a group well known across several MMORPGs.

The exceptional level of skill and teamwork they possess definitely deserves mention. They worked incredibly hard, making weekly runs through the Second Coil of Bahamut (Savage) in preparation for the Final Coil. In pushing their DPS and team coordination to its limits, I heard some teams also played through the normal Second Coil in item level 90 gear, and even the original Binding Coil in item level 55 gear after removing the Echo (with some teams clearing up to the final turn).

A parser isn't going to tell you how to improve your rotation. All it's going to say is your dps is say 200 instead of 400, or whatever. It'll tell you if you're missing, but there's ample info online about acc caps for various fights so you should be gearing for that. There are several forums/guides/youtube vids with lots of talk about rotations. As for blm, far as I know http://404guild.com/community/defaul...ge-infographic is still the best rotation. (though I haven't played blm seriously in ages)

Yoshi P has been open to adding a parser specifically for training dummies, but this isn't really the solution to what you're looking for. You're already above the problem that parsers are going to catch: you're not just blindly following some rotation you thought up and refuse to look at ways to improve. Parsers, as far as this kind of situation goes, will most often be used to notice dps with bad rotations in the first place.

Also if you hear a blanket statement such as "your dps should be ###" (without reference to a fight), keep in mind your dps will vary greatly from one fight to the next based on breaks in the fight, # of adds, and what amount of mechanics you're handling, whether by RNG or party decision. And some jobs are relatively low dps for a fight but needed for other reasons (caster lb, varying amounts of songs needed, pet soaks etc).

5-6 meteors?! I'm sorry but it probably is a raid issue and not a single person. (also depending if you solo tank)

Check the massive BLM thread for rotations... where I learned a large chunk of basic rotations and statistical information.

I COMPLETELY agree with this... when I play a game I love theorycrafting on my own, trying different stuff, rotations, etc. in this game I'm playing on my PS4 and I just go blind all the time while I hear others scream "Oh watch dem DPS! I'm DOING 470 trololol".
It pisses me off to very dangerous levels (not because they are showing off their DPS, but because they can track their DPS and I can't).

Not they are forbidden but MANY players also on Playstation what about us? Get a PC player into static just for a parse that is not allowed?

I have been wondering this myself and especially since fcob where the dps check is very tight and unforgivable. There is obviously a serious need of an official parser ingame.

To be honest, I don't understand SE's politic when it come to design learning curve process that should make you ready for end-game contents in FFXIV, most of the players who are starting the game now will ding 50 at a very fast rate by mostly chaining fates :/
And so... For a lot of them the learning curve about their jobs and game mechanic was totally rushed. After that the game is literally throwing you high level stuffs in your face and once you finished the main storyline there only coil left to do.

Now imagine being that player, the learning curve was almost non-existent, you literally got carried by other during duty finder experiences because everyone are over-geared and now you have to face end-game... XD What a slap in the face!
Training dummies will not solve this serious issue for new players, they need an official and personal parser to get better for contents OR SE's have to find a way to make the learning process way more HARSH for new players.

You do realize that the dev team isn't likely to watch their uploaded youtube videos or any live streams when they can access the fight realtime though their own clients, right? And even if they miss it, they can check the logs on their side. They don't need external assistance.
So generally, unless someone actually said something in party, this is in no way an indication that they're okay with parsers unless you harass someone. While it's ridiculous to think about, for all we know the dev team has no idea they were parsing themselves.

An in game parser would not bug me if it could only be used to view your OWN DPS or healing. But since the reason everyone wants it is to see how they stack up against everyone else, Im kind of against it. It would just cause problems because people will start to argue about who is better and the folks who dont meet a certain percent on DPS will start being cut from or excluded from things.
