There's always the off/slight chance it could be against Enkidu or Godbert for the Mandervile side quest. The trailer did hint that he was the strongest one there. But if "the void" does mean anything then it might be Atomos related. My question is, did they ever resolve what that demon bird was that took Gregs spear and scared that little girl back in the earlier chapter that introduced Greg?

I just noticed that Gilgamesh is holding a great katana. Is that implying there are Samurai somewhere in the world? Aside from that where did he also get that mace from?

Yes, its been mentioned that that bird is the true Enkidu, and ofc theres Samurai somewhere in the world, we just haven't explored there yet.

its most likely a definate ascian battle since the story has been talkin about capturing 1 in some kind of crystal and in the patch preview u see all the scions standing around a small floating glowing crystal so id bet anything its all related lol

I still think the mystery trial is going to be a face off with the real Enkidu before the trial where you fight the 8 armed Gilgamesh. but we wont know till after the full patch notes if they want to tell us or the the servers come back up if they choose not to.

or perhaps not, I just looked at the notes and the entry requirements are in the main scenario list....okay I'll go with what someone else said. I bet it's a fight with that Ascian they show in the trailor

You need to progress with storyline to get the ???, so it may have something to do with castrum/ascians...

In E3 trailer we have seen Lahabrea (if it truly was him) reviving ultima (or freeing him in its true form)... could it be omega?

Probably will be Omega Weapon with all primals power and Ultima's instead of 3 (Ifrit Garuda and Titan). I hope is that really and I really hope they make it the hardest fight since he was usually the hardest boss of the FF games.

the mystery trial was referred as "the chrysallis" in the french pre-patch notes. It has been changed since then though. However, that may just be the name of the place and not the name of the duty (duty name : the chrysallis, emplacement : the void). I still strongly think that the name of the mystery trial isn't in the auto-translate list yet, and that "the void" refers to something else. Maybe it has just been censored into "the void" to be replaced by the real name tomorrox. We'll see

No it's not. That was a cutscene in Praetorium before you fight Ultima Weapon the second time.
