I apologize if I came across as insulting. My frustration apparently leaked out a bit, and it came across as an "elitist" personal attack. Again, I apologize. I don't claim that I am 'better then you' in any sense.

Let me try and re-explain the point that I was trying to make.

I enjoy playing as a crafter. That is, I enjoy the process of making things, understanding a system, putting things together. That this is in virtual world does not diminish this.

Now, since I enjoy crafting, I could well view the combat system as a "tedious waste of time" that I simply have to do in order to get the materials that I need to craft. I could argue that the combat system is "too complex", "irrational", "inaccessible", and demand changes that simplify the combat system in order to suit my purposes. I could then approve when such changes are proposed, even though people that play and enjoy the combat for the sake of fighting stuff dislike them. For example, I could propose that having up to 30 skills on the action bar is too complicated, and ask for it to be reduced to only 4. I could propose that the targetting system is too complex, and that my attack should automatically hit the nearest target. This would fall under the guise of "simplifying" and "streamlining" the combat system, making it more "accessible" to new players.

But I don't do this. I don't do this because I don't feel that my desires as a crafter (or gatherer) should impact on a system that is not intended to be the one that I play for my own enjoyment.
