No Free Company Crafting in 2.5?

I remember hearing at one of the fanfests that FC crafting was coming in 2.5, and one of the first items we could craft would be the Aetherial Wheel, but apparently we're going to buy that now instead? Is FC crafting still coming in ARR? Or is it in Heavensward now instead?

They described the Aetherial Wheel as the first step in Free Company crafting. Presumably because it is effectively Action "crafting", though I use the term loosely because the way it seems to work makes it sound more like a Retainer Venture... "Put chip in and wait", rather than actual crafting...

Hopefully things like the "primed grade 1 wheel of confrontation" involve a fair bit of crafting and Company member synergy to produce, otherwise this just seems very lackluster... I do hope Airship construction doesn't have us delivering 99 Oak Lumber to the machine and leaving the machine to produce the Airship... Synergy in XI wasn't great, but it is worlds better than just leaving something overnight... Make it like Gardening and make it something people have to check up on and input various additional materials to to get the best results.

My understanding of FC Crafting and Aetherial Wheel was that it was two separate features (based on a translation that I read).

Yoshida: It would be difficult to calculate FC points in instanced dungeons because they are across servers, so you don’t earn credits at the moment. There will be new FC features in patch 2.5 like the aetherial wheel and the basement workshops, but we will try to add the points for instanced dungeons.

The two were not to necessarily be associated with each other, but we won't find out 100% until the full notes are out.

Pessimistic side of me says it's not in 2.5, perhaps 2.51 or later.

However, the optimistic side of me says they are omitting FC Crafting until the full notes. They seemed to have completed omitted the crafted weapons of WoD, probably to avoid hinting at *something* that would cause the MB to stir. Similar to that train of thought, because FC Crafting should involve the workshop basement, and under the assumption said basement would have to require some type of purchase via gil, we'll probably see information about it on monday to avoid a similar stir with selling items.
