Paypal finally available as a payment method

Paypal finally available as a payment method as of this morning.

Wanted to get the word out to the folks who did not know yet.

Only works for Crysta at the moment.

I don't think that's new. We've always been able to purchase crysta with paypal - it's been the workaround for many people to pay for the game without clickbank. What folks want is a more direct way to pay them that doesn't include additional calculations (because crysta isn't exactly 1:1)

No, we didnt have it since July,2014 when they killed off Playspan/Ultimate Pay. I made another thread entirely regarding this a few days ago, that includes all this information.

Now PAYPAL is available as stand-alone payment option, not through a third party like PlaySpan was.

Furthermore:
Crysta is 1:1.(atleast in US dollars it is)
I bought 3800 crysta = $38.00US

Ok. I might also be mixing things up with XI, though I always paid direct with a credit card there. I do remember purchasing crysta with my paypal account at one point, though. I still have like 100 unused crysta as a result. Sounds like they are moving in the right direction.

Crysta being 1:1 I meant in terms of being able to actually spend it. You couldn't buy 14.99 worth of crysta to get the sub at the time. You had to buy it in their block amounts and then have a bunch left over. It's why I ended up just putting it on a credit card - too much hassle. It's pretty much always been way too much hassle to pay them.

I see they allow you to specify the amount of crysta now as well. That's helpful, but it's definitely classic SE to add a layer of complexity where there didn't really need to be one. Still, good job on being right on top of the updates for all of us. Thanks a bunch for helping to get this pushed through!

Also, just as an aside, Crysta can be used for server transfers, character renames, and on the Cash Shop just as it can be used on subscriptions. So really, Paypal can, in a sense, pay for everything having to do with FFXIV.
