Blacklist's and RMT Stooges (Spammers)

I had a couple of ideas on how to slow these fools down...

1. When an IP address creates more than one account, place an incremental wait timer on the next account creation. (0m,20m,40m,80m,160m,...)
2. When you blacklist a character, make it account wide.
3. While were at it...if I blacklist one character on someones account, I do not want to hear from any of that accounts characters.
4. Allow your players to assist you in the war against these annoyances - give us an option other than blacklist that we can use to report them - no command line, just message response option - after an account receives enough of these reports, you can have your way with them.
5. Options for the user: Allow tells only from Friends/Free Company, Block friend requests

Just a few suggestions that might give you some ideas

The situation on Adamantoise is so intolerable that players are turning off the /Tell chat or setting flags to busy. For the last 72 hours, we're getting a flood of spam, mostly from a particular giant criminal organization. We're getting about 30 spams/hour. The blacklist stops the immediate consecutive messages, then the blacklist has to be partially purged every hour.

Myself, fellow players, FC members are dutifully reporting spams in the Spam Report box, the harassment box and in the cheating box (whereas spambots are being used against us). We have been (via in game reporting) begging and pleading to the gamemasters to block and stop this giant corporation.

There at least 26 duplicate names written to my blacklist, and two triplicates. Spammers are over-riding the blacklist and causing us to receive their /tells anyway.

I really like these ideas, I am always set to /busy get bothered when looking for duty finder.. Wish they'd add a way to remove yourself from player searches without blocking party invites or Friend's tells.

I had this same thought too. Why can't they limit the amount of characters made on accounts when they have gotten their previous ones banned or deleted? At least have a timer or a day restriction for creating another, this is abusive. Also have a restriction for friend requesting like leveling their character to Lv 5 which seems reasonable to me. You know RMTs can't be bother to level characters to spam chat.

They are like ants, no matter how many you step on, more come out of the ant hole. Even if you crush the ant hole, they merely surface through a new hole.

I feel the solution is targeting and tracking down the buyers of gil in order to instil fear in people who would consider buying.

And this game really does need more /tell filters. I'm often in FFXIV trying to relax from a day of dealing with stupidity and I get tells from Chinese capitalists at least 5 times an hour all day every day. So I put /busy and /busy usually stays up... this sucks because I feel like I've become more distant from my friends who I used to have /tell conversations with and it makes me feel distant from the community as a whole =/
