Challenges would be a nice incentive to make premade parties to run dungeons rather than only having the duty finder as an option.
I would be nice to see PF dungeon runs that aren't DD farms.
I like the idea of "Dark Souls" like challenge stuff but I would like it to stay out side of DFs. Now challenge modes for PF would be fine. It would be a way for non-raiders,solo players and time short players to earn extra tomes, earn top tier gear or rare gear and give some burnt out players (like myself) a reason to keep playing.
Any handicap that involves some kind of mp gimp is loke a huge no.
Can u imagine, u go into pharos, have half max mp as whm and every enemy has a damage buff etc? A lot of things would be too unbalanced lol
It would only work in full pre made groups where u can control a few variables as to df where u get random ppl etc.
I know the community is very anti speed run, but if they removed all barriers in dungeons, even both boss barriers, you would open up some interesting mechanics.
Or how about we just don't run dungeons on our 120+ gearsets?
You can do this already with reducing the equiped average ilevel. Except the rewards.a) Difficult modifiers: At the beginning of dungeon (or during the "commence check") players can vote in options to increase the difficulty (strong enemies, permanent damage/healing debuff to all players, etc). Each modifier also increase the rewards (more XP and gil from monsters, better loot chests, etc)
It must be at best 1 in 10 experts that isn't a speed run when I do roulettes. At least on EU data server, there are more inclined to pul multiple mobs as opposed to one pack at a time. Which I prefer, as adds a little challenge, as MNK, SCH or when I tank em. Especially when on SCH, keeping tank healthy while trying to weave in some dots, micro managing pet so I can keep DPSing has, imo, made me a better SCH than just doing easy single pack pulls.
Challenges does help you improve, making things easy can make you complacent.
I think the golden saucer mini-games should be giving exp on the class you are playing as....
The best Final Fantasy was the one everyone played at age 12!
What if they made side passages with mini bosses that give unique rewards: rare crafting materials, materia drops, company seals whatever as to make dungeons less linear. I'd also like to see different drops in coffers along the way as well instead of pots.
