how can you type this out and misspell you're?
NGE is not an expansion, show how much you know about it. Did you even read what I wrote? They even release an expansion (a few days before NGE) with it. NGE is an update, a patch.
SOE even refunded a lot of people for Trials of Obi-Wan, which was the expansion that planned to go with NGE.
i see your leather is decently high.I'm only like 27 WVR right now myself, but I actually find myself grinding on the clothing pieces because cloth is either too high or gives to little sp before the next cloth can be made. That's my experience anyway. Like right now, I'm grinding canvas but that's not going to be too good exp very soon, actually isn't now, but there really isn't anything else for me to do but finished items at this range. I certainly won't be able to do velveteen for at least 5 levels, maybe 6. The bridge recipe for me would be to buy some velveteen and make inner cowls until I could get to the point where I can make velveteen cloth but that will not be an option if parts are removed.
Do you have any suggestion as to what I could grind on for a 30 WVR that isn't a part (since they won't be available) or a finished item?
at 27 weaver you should be able to start making the underwear for the different classes. it's a r33 synth and should give you quite nice sp.
the recipe for those are quite simple 2 - cloth, 1 sheep leather strap, and 1 dew thread.
i'm not sure about on your server, but on mine the underwear sells quite well in the wards also. if you get a hq off it you can make really nice profits off them. just check out the "Cotton Loinguard" recipe and i think you will have nice success on sp and profits.
wynn don't take me as attacking you i just looked at your levels and said this would work nicely for you. wish you the best with it for a few levels until you can move on to velveteen.
edit: sorry i know you asked for a non finished item, but at least this route if you npc'd the nq's and sold the hq's in wards you could actually make a little profit while grinding.

As to people going off saying people were concerned too early, I disagree with that. The early notes did not accurately portray what was going on, especially after seeing the post Yoshi made recently. If the end result is broader more general recipes at low ranks, and keep the more complex recipes for the higher ranks, most would consider that a good direction, which was indicated as the intent. At least we do get some feedback when we voice our concerns, they don't have to give us any responses.
Though due to our concerns regarding these changes, we may have given SE some good ideas that they can use to adjust the system to keep what is liked about the system, while also making it more new crafter friendly. As adjusting crafting recipes should not be as time consuming as implementing something like the chocobo system. While tweaking the mini-game aspect of crafting would take more time.
Only thing else I can say about the issue now, would be to gather/consolidate the ideas we have had into an easy to access post, and wait for the Tuesday announcement.
Im so excited about the update and so many ppl in game are too
I love crafting! only thru guildleves tho, gathering all these materials just make me go 'ugh'
I cant see how the need of more materials can make crafting anymore fun.
Besides irl weavers ain't buying a shoulder piece, a sleeve piece. no. they get 1 material and make whole cloth piece with it. Just if u think its unrealistic
In game weavers dont buy a sleeve piece either, they do buy the materials needed to make it however. Irl its much the same.Im so excited about the update and so many ppl in game are too

In fact a great deal of producers buy their materials (a good deal also including parts) from the ''irl market wards''
Have you ever heard of a weaver irl that hand made every single material she uses?
(including tanning hides into leather)
Ofcourse there were people like that in the past, but guess what, they had ranked multiple crafts.
Then again nowadays its not like a ''piece of cloth'' is anything complex or such, yes i imagine you can make a ''shirt'' from just one piece of cloth.
Actual weaving/clothmaking isnt quite that newb crafting tho~
Now if you believe something to be so and so irl, you might want to put a ''from what little i know irl its my opinion'' somewhere in your post.~

Holy hell, you want to reply with an insulting come back? Stop proving my point by learning how to spell and form your sentences. Point in case.An the sad little idiots like you only prove your idiots by insulting people just cos they have a different view point.
For a lot of the crafter's in this post you saying yes plz to the changes will ruin it for people who like some depth to a game.
And please don't bring a constructive post down to your level, I totally disagree with Lionheart on 2 parts, but at least he has a view point and the ability to put it across without being an ass...
Crafting NEEDS to be simplified so it's accessible to everyone. The current system is retarded, and you know it is. Stop defending it because 10 out of 1000 people like it. That's not how a successful game works, and thank god SE isn't listening to people like you.
But you're also missing the point. How can you call it overkill when you haven't seen the changes in depth yet? People are arguing that the classes who make a lot of "parts" get screwed over. Do you really think they wouldn't change that? Has it not crossed your mind that those recipes will be replaced with better or new ones?
The current system NEEDS to go, it NEEDS to be simplified, so that it can be built on again and be taken into a brand new, much better direction. Yeah, They're dumbing it down a bit. But you kind of have to in order to put new and better things on it, don't you think?
So once again, I honestly have no idea why people are complaining. This is a really, really good thing.
Also, this whole "Realistic" argument you guys are talking about? This is a freaking game. What is wrong with you? I don't want to come home from work to do more work, I want to come home from work and have fun. Reality doesn't belong in a game.

Why does the crafting process have to be long and difficult? I say keep it simple but make the required materials for high level items difficult to ACQUIRE.
