o.O Overkill on the crafting Dumb down?

Seriously, forget about the gatherers for minute. They already dealt them the death blow with removing repair materials. This is about the actual fun that comes from doing crafts. And taking things away from people and making other things more mindless does not improve the system. Day after day on these thread people complain about the mindless grind it takes to level crafting. With these new changes, with the exception of removing parts, the crafting system is going to be so over simple they might as well make it an auto leveler.

There is no benefit to rapid or bold synth
There is no longer a use for Facilities
There is no longer any cross classing synths
There is no longer anything reason to earn guild marks
There has never been any reason to leave town

People keep saying things like, People don't buy MMOs for the Crafting, or People only care about the Battle System crafting is just a support role. But it's just blatantly not true. People care very much about these systems and a lot of people actually bought this game in the hope of having a Fulfilling crafting experience. Now Yoshi is tearing it apart without remorse or any plans to make it better. It's insulting.

I love the crafting system as it is and I think if something is not broken why fix it. I dont know but I have put alot of work into getting my weaving to 46 and leather to 41 and now I feel like it is a slap in the face to make these changes after all the hard work I have put into getting to where I am at. But I guess it is my fault for playing a game that the producers have to recreate. ;'(

Then I go back to my original statement that you needed to be more vocal. Some people out there beat you or your friends who this seems to hurt the most and spoke louder in the forums then all. I want someone to explain how simplifiyng the crafting system.....no I retract that... STREAMLINING the crafting system is dumbing it down? If you had to go out in the field for battle and you had to do this:

1 choose weapon
2 choose hand to use with weapon
3 grab weapon
4 remove weapon from sheath
5 prepare weapon for striking

If THOSE were the steps needed for you to attack a foe and I mean actually prompted for this JUST like the old craft system use to be, would you consider it dumbing it down if they turned around and made it as it is now?

As for you asking me about the classes, ummm in XI you HAD to go back to town to change your classes LOLOL. And yes, it sucked. But, I played it for 3 years and to this DAY, love that game. So sorry, no bites on that one.

Ok Kiote...you win. You're right...if you had to actually tell your character to do each one of those steps instead of just clicking X on your feaking keyboard or your Gamepad, you'd enjoy the game more.

There's a time you have to choose your battles Kiote...this is not one of them for me. You only read MY statement apparently and not the one for which I was replying too. Nor did you answer the question I posed. All you did was continue to QQ instead of actually posing a more defined reason for your problem. AND if you even READ my posts, I have said at LEAST twice that I don't agree with them removing the guilds or crafting facilities or removing ANY abilities so your barking up the wrong tree.

You make a very good point. Rapid was smashed to peices by the old dev team because it stood a good chance of always succeeding, while the quality of the bold synth is such a minor addition to the HQ chance, that it really seems to not matter in the slightest.

Though, I hope that facilities still provide a benifit... Though, I have to wonder if they were only for countering a penalty before... Guild Marks can still be used for some skills and crystals... but who knows how long that'll last.

this is very good news for the average player. i know the hardcore crafters wont like it especially the ones who have already lvled, but i stopped my crafting at rank 20 due to the inventory heavy overcomplicated nature of the craft system.

I didn't quote you to pick a Fight I quoted you because you proved my point. You don't fix a systems by Ripping out it's guts. You fix a problem by streamlining repetitive actions. If they want future players to enjoy crafting they will have no choice but to build a new crafting UI. Not rip apart the recipes and remove all the benefits of being a cross class crafter.

I really like the idea SE has here. I personally hate crafting as it is now due to the extensive material lists. I'm all for it! Change is good, don't be scared! lol
