From what I've experienced in combat and gathered about others' similar experiences, combat is somewhat dull. While it is true that there is a certain finesse to optimizing each classes rotations and buffs and to finding the strategy to each boss, combat pacing can get boringly consistent. This may just be from my perspective, but I think it could use a bit of flare.
This is where I got the idea of the magical engineer, a crafting class that creates very powerful, albeit expensive and difficult to gather materials for, consumables that can give serious bursts of performance and enable unique and powerful cross disciple skills, though it might come at the cost of an enormous consumption casting time or a preceding or following debuff.
For example, a scroll that enables weak flight, a watch that reduces your cast and skill speeds dramatically and enables sprinting without using TP for a time, a talisman that enables casting of crippling spells and improves mp regen, etc.
Does anybody have any thoughts or opinions on this?
