So how is this tarnishing your friend's reputation, and reputation with who?

The only people that get upset with crafted gear undercutting is other crafters, and they're not the ones buying your stuff. Anyone these other crafters have enough influence with aren't buying crafted stuff on the MB either. This just sounds like a bunch of people that don't matter crying about your friend being mean in tells.

I don't have access to all the angles, but essentially my friends just don't want to be associated with a group known for causing grief. Honestly, there should really just be a way to remove signatures or opt to not attach them to your crafted items, so as to avoid this type of situation entirely. Simple as that.
