So how is this tarnishing your friend's reputation, and reputation with who?
The only people that get upset with crafted gear undercutting is other crafters, and they're not the ones buying your stuff. Anyone these other crafters have enough influence with aren't buying crafted stuff on the MB either. This just sounds like a bunch of people that don't matter crying about your friend being mean in tells.

I don't have access to all the angles, but essentially my friends just don't want to be associated with a group known for causing grief. Honestly, there should really just be a way to remove signatures or opt to not attach them to your crafted items, so as to avoid this type of situation entirely. Simple as that.So how is this tarnishing your friend's reputation, and reputation with who?

I noticed that we are on the same server. I am now curious if this "faction" is related to the group advertising in the PF as a "merchants fc." They aim to only recruit crafters and this scenario is exactly what I imagined it was designed for.

As much as SE says that bloated item data is causing them some problems on the development side of things, getting rid of the signature data entirely seems like an easy partial solution.

I don't think there is a way. It's a shame because some things I don't like having someone else's name on. Luckily for me I am 50 all crafts so I can make most of my stuff. I wish there was an option like in ffxi where you had to buy a special crystal in order to put your sig on an item. Usually it was just reserved for crafting stuff for your friends, which is how I feel it should be handled in this game too.
you can open up the market board and look at non-stackable items that can ONLY be crafted. and you can find several of them won't have the signature. i don't know if it is a bug, (done randomly and can't be reproduced) or maybe a glitch. (and someone just isn't sharing) but i do know that it is somehow possible. however, i have never personally had it occur on any items crafted by myself.

This will happen if a retainer brings back the item from a venture. I think it happens also if the crafter leaves server.you can open up the market board and look at non-stackable items that can ONLY be crafted. and you can find several of them won't have the signature. i don't know if it is a bug, (done randomly and can't be reproduced) or maybe a glitch. This. There's a few items I routinely make when the AH doesn't have any up, and only a few other crafters bother with. We don't flood the market, we just put one up @ a time. When a bunch land on the AH, it's almost always unsigned venturebling.

Hmmm... Do retainers bring back i90 Cashmere gear? I've never heard of one doing so but if others have experienced this, it would explain the missing signature on some high-lvl crafted gear/items.
