Noob crafting questions about quality increase. !!

Hi

Noobie crafting question, I have Culinarian at 50 and starting to learn crafting and how to get max quality. I have noticed that when I use "Touch" skills, the quality
doesn't always increase by the same value, one hit can increase for 10% and the other like 35%

My questions are :
-Is there a time to use those touch action for better increase? Is it when the quality is normal / good / excellent?
- Should I wait and use observe to get to the desired quality before using touch?, Should I use synthesis skills to change quality and then use touch action when I have the quality I want?

ALSO, Which stats is making the touch abilities to give you more quality on each step, is it craftmanship?

poor normal good excellent are the conditions.

you ideally want to use touches on good or excellent as they will give the biggest bonus to quality.

however this is not always the best case and depends heavily on your gear and skills and where you are in your rotation.

control is for increasing bonuses to touches craftsmanship to progress.

cp is for your ability to use more skills.

all three are very important to hq anything whether your just starting or a 4* master crafter.

if cul is your only 50 then your next step has to be to get the cross class skills as they are essential to reliably hq later synths.

there is a lot of information on this forum for any aspiring crafter to look up and find some direction to go to hit the master crafter status. (still don't have this title in game though)

oh and on the subject of observe?? what does that do again.?? lol actually its barely useful and youd be better of using other skills but as with anything it does have its place if your at the end of your synth and would fail after your next touch if you didn't push quality. in this scenario if you have the cp to spare you could use observe to give you another chance / chances to get a good or excellent for that final touch.
