Unfortunately they (development) rather spend time and resources on cute stuff (See weddings and the pseudo golden saucer coming) vs. actual playable content.

Why haven't any new simple delivery quest hubs been added since launch? Why does questing just abruptly come to an end making leveling 2nd + jobs a chore and "rinse / repeat"? There is enough doing the same thing over and over at 50 so running the same dungeon, fates, and leves to get XP are horrible and boring ways to level additional jobs. These don't even need to be story based as the majority of the quests you do up to 50 have zero meaning on the world and just provide a time sink and way to gain XP for leveling (Fetch Quests for example).
