Do I really need relic weapon for the maint story line!?

Yeah, running TITAN hard mode is a piece of cake when you're ilvl 50. Are you guys listening to yourselves? I ran Ifrit and Garuda Hard at ilvl 54 (with a Giantsgall Trident HC) and got my ass handed to me, but thanks to a good party, got credit for them. Won't even think of touching Titan hard until I'm ilvl 65-70. Unless I'm in a carry party.

You can't even enter Titan HM at i50.

@OP - the relic quest isn't required but the base relic is a really solid starter weapon. Even if you choose not to advance it, it gives you a solid footing to start from earning tomes and such to get the i110 weapon with tomes.
