Do I really need relic weapon for the maint story line!?

I need your guidance for relic weapons. I am at item level 48-50 something. I need it54 to beat the moogle king. How do I get relic weapons to advance in the main scenario quest? I am a summoner.

I saw some suggestion on other websites but I want to know your opinion. Also to let the devs my opinion about this.

I believe Auriana in Mor Dhona will have a quest for you that unlocks the process of getting a Relic weapon. It's actually quite easy, and the relic alone gets you to i70 for the weapon. Upgrading it to Zenith (very easy and cheap to do) takes that ilvl to 90.

No, Relic quest chain is the side quests. Having it or not won't affect your story quest completion in any way.

If you have never started a relic quest before, you need to go to Vesper Bay north west of Horizon. There will be a man outside of the building where the scions stay that will give you a relic reborn quest for the job you on that is 50 (if you want to do summoner make sure not to be on sch)

Relic weapons are unnecessary, but I recommend running at least the first part for your main class. It's an experience, and up to atma it's not too hard

You don't have to do it, no. It is a fairly easy quest though and it's requirements largely overlap with things that you will be doing anyway. It's a decent starter weapon. It's i80 when you get it and quickly/ easily upgraded to i90. I'd probably complete it and then work on getting the i100/110 weapon from soldiery tomes/ unidentified allagan tomestones/ sands of time.

Yeah, running TITAN hard mode is a piece of cake when you're ilvl 50. Are you guys listening to yourselves? I ran Ifrit and Garuda Hard at ilvl 54 (with a Giantsgall Trident HC) and got my ass handed to me, but thanks to a good party, got credit for them. Won't even think of touching Titan hard until I'm ilvl 65-70. Unless I'm in a carry party.

Didn't know you had to solo him. Almost every trial roulette is a carry party. Nobody cares, good luck finding a titan group where everyone isn't overgeared.

I think you need to beat Titan HM to unlock Coil, so you might as well do the relic quest while you're at it.

Opinions on relics are very divided. We have this conversation in my FC often. Half thinks they are a waste of time, the other half (myself included) loves getting relics. It's really your own personal choice since there are equivalents out there if you are able to get into higher lvl content. However, unlike the dropped weapons, relics become customizable at a certain stage and you can choose where to put your secondary stats which allows you to better maximize your dps. Both options have pros and cons.

Be warned, it is a grind fest though. Not so bad since they eased up on atma but still grindy. For myself I find it nothing compared to getting relics/empy/mythics in xi and enjoy it for the most part. Let your own play style be the factor that lets you decide whether or not to make them, because like I said, ppl are very divided on the subject and are very adamant for the most part about the side they take. The nice thing about smn being your first, is when you do get to the atma and alexandrite parts, any fate and any alexandrite map can be easily solo'd by even a lower ilvl smn if you know how to utilize your abilities.
