Could be a Mystic Knight... They're associated a lot more with imbuing weapons with magic than Red Mage. Red Mage in most FF's is a "jack of all trades, master of none"- a hybrid job capable of utilising moderate white AND black magic with some small melee potential.

Or, just a weapon skill.

Wanting someone dead because you find them annoying is a bad reason. You can easily shove a character to the sidelines without having to kill everyone for the sake of drama.

That is a screenshot from the CGI sequence at the boot up of FFIII's remake. Does not depict gameplay- as red mage's have no such ability in that game

I don't think she will, it's possible although that she'll get turned into a primal or something, the Ascians wants to do something with her and now that they know that we can be catalyst to summon primals they are ready to make their move, if they wanted her killed they would have done it sooner.
