Recently the 2.5 trailer release showed a lot of tings that will happen in the 2.5 Main Scenario.

The Scions will be betrayed.
Yugiri's face will be revealed.
Each member will be left behind to hold off countless waves of enemies.
We may once again be the only surviving Scion member until we can find the remaining survivors in 2.55 or 3.0.

Heck they even revealed Ilberd is a Red Mage with his ability to set his sword on fire.

The Battle on Ishgard and the Ishgard'ss Gate battle we see in the Heavensward teaser trailer is shown to be events in 2.5 Part 2

So what do you think about these countless revealing.

It would be cool if some of the scions died. I mean, Heavensward is supposed to have a darker feel about it and letting the scions die would be a nice transition. If I had to choose it would be Alphinaud, followed by everone's waifu Minfilia. Both are annoying as heck.

I'd agree with you about Minfilia, but she's one of my FC member's waifu, and I'd rather put up with her being obnoxious than his sobbing for a month.

Killing off main characters for drama has become so common in everything from movies to TV shows that it doesn't really have much drama associated with it anymore. Unless they find some interesting or meaningful way to kill off a character they might as well let them all live -- that would be the least expected and probably most dramatic outcome.

My best guess is that the Scions may just go MIA and players will be left hanging on their fates and what they have been doing until a certain point in 3.0 Main Scenario where they pull one of those events where each Scion one by one appear again throughout 3.0 Main Scenario. For example, Ecountering Thancred in 3.0 Main Scenario going on a Date with multiple girls when he has been MIA since 2.5 Part 2 storyline.
